The part I find most amusing is that the lurkiest of lurkers will likely never see it.
That's why it's so great. :)

I forget the exact formula we came up with, but it's some minimum years + some maximum posts. Like 5 years and 50 or less posts, or something along those lines.

You're gonna lose that title at this rate FreddyO! ;)

Yeah really. 4 posts in 9 years, then 6 in a week.

At this rate, I calculate he'll be posting 47.3 times a second by Thursday.

I'm trying to post more now. I've become more interested in forums in general since I've been on the Beretta and CZ forums for my handgun needs.

And you haven't posted in the Perpetual Firearms Thread? For shame.

He only has so many posts to use...

But I'm at 46 (now 47?) posts! When I hit 50 I'm not going back to Smack-fu Master in training am I? Anything but that. It will take me another 7 years to hit Wise, Aged Ars Veteran at the rate I'm going. And I've been "lurking" since your first year - it took me over 8 years just to register.

(I just found this thread in trying to find out what Seniorius Lurkius means. This http://arstechnica.com/staff/2012/05/th ... nk-system/ is the most recent listing of rankings I could find - is there a newer one? )

According to Aurich
Like 5 years and 50 or less posts, or something along those lines.

So you'd never get it unless they expanded it to people that left.

So 3,178 years and 146 days with this post. Excellent; that's easily doable.

Uranium half-lives scales.
Are we talking Uranium-238, or Uranium-223?

I'm proud to be a member of this highly selective group. There should be a meetup for us. We could all sit around, not talk, and observe what everyone else is not doing.

Joking aside, these ARE probably the people I would find most interesting and engaging. "Observers" tend to be explosive conversationalists when paired with someone else who has also put a lot of time into considering the world and trying to expand their understanding of it, themselves, etc.

I'm guessing a common thread between us is our opinion that wikipedia is the greatest website on the internet (ars being a close second). ;)

If you'll pardon me, I'll continue on with my pursuit of knowledge.

Sigh. So after six years of having an account (and longer without an account), I comment on a couple of stories and I'm sent right back to "Smack-Fu Master, in training"? Really?

I really don't want to be whiny, but I'm going to: Have you guys given any thought to at least keeping the non-lurker status from reverting to total newbie status? I don't post a lot because I take my Ars very seriously. I don't comment unless I feel I have something to add. And now... I'm back to being a plebe again. I'm very sad. I will place my tears in an envelope and send them to you to prove it. Please wait a few days for delivery.
