In the slant towards abstraction, French allows for his work to be interpreted on multiple levels. He commented: “Abstraction is less obvious, so the images are open to a wider range of meanings and interpretations. It’s intended to offer the viewer a more personal experience - different people will see different things and read the images in their own ways.” The figurative elements of his work represent the conscious, with characters absorbed in their own actions. The abstracted portraits in which they sit representing the subconscious, the instinctual yet hidden human drives that shape and determine the blissfully unaware subjects and make up the bigger picture.

Montebar Villa is a minimalist residence located in Medeglia, Switzerland, designed byJM Architecture. The Montebar Villa is a prefabricated wood house lying on a panoramic spot facing the Swiss alps, in a privileged position with sun light during the four seasons. A magical place where the silence is alternated with the gentle chimes of cows at pasture in the distance, where the calm breezes coax tree branches and grasses to release and carry a sweet and fragrant air.

Check out the incredible work above by artist Hueman for her solo show “Just One Moment” which opens Saturday, September 19th, 2015 at Mirus Gallery in San Francisco, California.
For “Just One Moment” Hueman takes singular instances and dissects them into boldly colorful explosions that are balanced and at the same time unsettling. As Mirus Gallery explains: “The physicality of a moment becomes especially integral to these works, drawing in the viewer to absorb ethereal scenes, suspending the moment and causing emotions to linger and simmer.”
Hueman achieves this goal instantly with her view-from-a-prism paintings, causing self-reflection and also - thanks to the beauty and the strength of the work - empowerment.
“Just One Moment” will be on view until the 10th of October, 2015. Definitely stop by if you’re able.
