Dropping Support for PHP 8.1 in January 2026

Overview

PHP will be ending support for version 8.1 on December 31, 2025. In accordance with the PHP documentation regarding supported versions, we will quickly drop support for PHP 8.1 in January 2026.

Required Updates

Most importantly, we'll need to consider a new major version (v10.0.0) due to the backward incompatibilities. We'll also need to:

• Check dependencies and update composer.json
• Update syntax where mandatory (and other optimizations, with major changes saved for later)
