problem with "A" versions of esp32s2 and ESP32_GENERIC_S2-20250911-v1.26.1

ampy now hangs when pushing my .py files on "A" v0.0 versions of esp32s2's. It works fine on the "B" v1.0 versions.
I was last using ESP32_GENERIC_S2-20250415-v1.25.0 and with that version the "A"'s it did not have this problem. I only have about 10 of the "A"s and have stored them away.
peterhinch's main sleep suggestion does help. Just press R before running ampy.
Anyone else experience this?
