Devtools + Nuxt 3 (composition api) + Vuetify 3: slow to update properties

I have a nuxt/vuetify project where the properties in DevTools are slow to/never update to reflect changes of state in the app. For example if I have

   <v-select v-model="foo" :items="['a','b','c']">

  // script
 const foo = ref(null)
...

and I make a selection in the app, the foo property in DevTools does not update automatically. However, if I hit the refresh button then the change is reflected
