SAL- Seasonal Houses February #2

The next house is February. It is a cute one as well. Of course it is in red and pinks.

Here is where I am so far……..

I just have the trees and background to finished.

We are traveling for awhile now and there are some long flights, and train rides so hopefully I’ll be able to get more done.

I did take a break from the house to make another luggage tag. This time it is a very cute gnome on a beach vacation

Here he is……..

That’s it for now, please check out what the others in the SAL are working on and I’ll see you for the next update.

SAL Update-Seasonal House January # 2

Last update I was trying to decide colors for this project. Thank you everyone for the encouragement on my color choices.

This is a fun easy project, which is what I need right now. We are going to be traveling a lot so it is perfect to take along.

Here is where I was last update………

Here is the finished project…….

I was very happy with the way this turned out. Looking forward to the next months houses.

SAL Update-Seasonal House January #1

Well it’s been 3 weeks so time for another update. Unfortunately I don’t have any progress to show you on the Mystery Shawl. After the last update I noticed another mistake and ripped it out for the second time. I was able to re-knit what I ripped out, but decided I needed a break so the shawl is in time out.

I did decide on a cross-stitch project though. I’m doing the Sitchy House of the Month by Erica Arndt

Here is what the January house will look like……

Each month’s house has a cute quilt on it. I think I may have tried to stitch this pattern once before, but didn’t like the color of the house. I started with the light blue the pattern called for but didn’t like the way it blended in with the fabric color…….

Thankfully I only did a few rows before I decided I want a darker blue. So here is the color I chose. I think it shows up a lot better…..

So I guess I’ve done a lot of ripping out these last few weeks, but hopefully I’m on the right track.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have been working on and I’ll see you for the next update.

SAL-Mystery Shawl 1

Thank you ever for your well wishes. My knee is much better. I’m getting around and doing most things and in a minimal amount of pain. It will now just take time and some more PT, but good overall.

I still haven’t started any new cross-stitch project. I did find a couple of UFO’s (unfinished projects) cleaning up the other day so think I may work on one of those next.

In the mean time I have started a mystery shawl. I have signed up for the Hedgerow Mystery Shawl by Helen Stewart at Curious Handmade

With the mystery shawl you get a clue once a week. I have had a little problem with one part and dropped a stitch. Unfortunately I didn’t notice until I had finished about 20 rows. So I figured it was easier to just start over.

So here is what I’ve been able to finish on my second attempt………

Hopefully there will no more mistakes, no promises lol.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have been working on and I’ll see you next update.

SAL 2026

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. It’s hard to believe it is February already.

The last 6 weeks have been crazy for us. Christmas was a busy time. Then in January I had a total knee replacement. I’m doing very well, but as you can quess haven’t felt much like stitching.

I did get some crocheting in. I made these two cute little guys to go with my winter decorations.

My snowman……

And a cute penguin……..

SAL-Update Halloween Wreath #19

Well the day has finally come. Time for a Happy Dance! I finished the Halloween Wreath. I checked when I first started this project. It was 2 years ago. Wow! I did take some time off to work on other projects. But I’m very excited I finished it.

Here is where I was last up date….

And now the finished project…..

It is so cute. All I need to do is wash it and then I think I’ll turn it into a pillow.

Now I get the fun job of deciding on my next project, thinking I’ll do something Christmas.

This is going to be the last SAL for the year. The next one is scheduled for December 28th, but we decided to skip that one since it is such a busy time of year.

Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Please check out what the others in the group have been working on, and I’ll see you next year for another update.

SAL- Halloween Wreath #15

Wow where did the last 3 weeks go. This time of year always seems busier, I love the warmer weather and the daylight. Just makes me want to spend time outdoors.

I have been enjoying working on my knitting. It’s hard to tell, but I have made good progress.

Here is where I was last update.

And now…..

I was able to get about 6 inches done on the body and have 3-4 inches more to go.

I have also have been working on my Halloween Wreath cross-stitching again. It’s hard to believe I haven’t really worked on this project since mid October of last year. Guess it was time.

Here is were I was last time I worked on it….

I have made some progress….

And here is how far I have come on the whole piece….

I really don’t have a lot left to go, even though it feels like a lot.

So I quess that is all I have to update this time.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have been working on.
