About
We are a network of staff and students based across University of Reading, acting to bridge the gap between every day “small climate actions” and the larger scale decision-making such as biodiversity and climate COPs.
We all come from different backgrounds and experiences, however, a common thread that we have noticed across the university is that there doesn’t seem to be a space which currently provides consistent time for climate change discussions whether that be about greater learning or how to make change. While this topic is something that we feel is at the centre of a lot of our academic lives there seems to be a lack of community around how to make change and how to continue learning about this topic.
UoR recently scored 75.8% in the People & Planet University League, placing 4th in the country! We aim to work with University of Reading to encourage further policies that progress its ethical and sustainability aims, whilst challenging on areas that are held back from making the kind of transformations needed to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
What’s Happening
Over the coming terms, we are hosting a range of knowledge building events, guest speakers, and campaigning activities. (Events term card coming soon!)

Our currently active campaign involvement includes:
- Fossil Free Careers (newly launched by RECC), sign the Reading petition and the UK-wide petition!
- Plant Based Universities (with the already active Reading group)
