• Screamin’ in California

One of the great things about walking around Paradise Pier is when riders go whizzing overhead on California Screamin’. It’s a driving force to the liveliness of the boardwalk area. Couple that with carnival games and flashing lights and you have yourself a day of amusement.

  • Sunset at Grizzly Peak

The first time I saw it from the Disneyland parking lot, I thought this peak resembled a wolf…

I know I wasn’t the only one. Fortunately, my perception of it changed over the years and I wholeheartedly embraced the grizzly bear. In fact, I don’t see the wolf anymore at all.

  • Balcony at the Rancho

This is a picture I took a few years ago. I was excited about it then and, for some reason, it has remained a favorite. I guess that means it’s about time I shared it.

  • Disneyland Daydream

Hello there. It’s been a while (again). Extra time has been a little scarce of late but it’s good to be back (with several posts ready to go!) and I have a couple of exciting things to share. Maybe we can make this a habit again, meeting here for new adventures. That’s the goal.

  • Jazz Hands

I came across this photo recently as I was going through my library. I smile every time I think of Ernie. There was something of heaven in the way he played. His music was gentle and could turn a sour mood sweet in no time. I’m grateful for every moment I got to bask in it.

  • Benches at Disneyland

I have a lot of good memories on the benches at Disneyland.

They’re so inviting. I love claiming one and people watching while listening to the Main Street audio loop. It’s an especially satisfying thing to do first thing in the morning, or with some coffee or cocoa at the end of a long day as the park closes and thousands of people turn to hundreds and hundreds to tens.

  • An Alpine Garden in Bloom

With the recent arrival of Spring, I’ve still got flowers on the brain. Another wonderful area for them at Disneyland is at the base of the Matterhorn, where blooms spring above a bed of lush green grass.

  • Trading Stars for Sky

What Tomorrowland lacks in futuristic feelings, it makes up for with lines. At least that’s what I tell myself when I come away with so many photos like this one when I spend time there.

  • Clouds, Diamonds, and a Castle

The backside of the castle certainly bears resemblance to its inspiration, Neuschwanstein Castle. It makes me wonder if the primary reason Walt was okay with the top’s reversal was to give Disneyland’s Castle a better shot at an identity of its own. I’d say it worked, if so.
