Apparently, everyone reads this title twice. I did. I think Donaldson first creates an absolutely fantastic reading experience, so good, that his stories sometimes feel like they serve a supporting role. The Man Who Killed His Brother is an obvious example. I appreciate that you loved the Thomas Covenant books. Your review inspired me to pull The First Chronicles from my shelf and stack my copy of Ecko Rising on top.
Thank you for that! Fairly obviously, Ecko was very much inspired by the Covenant books, to the point where he said, somewhere in the initial draft of the manuscript, "I'm a social leper, outcast, unclean."
My editor made me take it out ;D
