## Pinterest Image Downloader

Downloads images that Pinterest exposes on ordinary public search and pin pages. Each successful image is validated, stored in the default key-value store, and accompanied by a dataset record that describes the actual downloaded file.

The Actor does not sign in, solve challenges, alter browser-identification signals, or call Pinterest's private APIs. If Pinterest requires authentication, CAPTCHA, or verification, the run stops and writes a `diagnostics` record instead of returning misleading empty data.

### Output contract

Only a completed image download produces a dataset item. Required fields include the numeric `pinId`, canonical `pinUrl`, final Pinterest CDN `imageUrl`, requested and downloaded variants, verified `contentType`, exact `byteLength`, `kvStoreKey`, source page, mode, and timestamp. Optional title, description, alt text, and dimensions are included only when the public page exposes them.

Image files use `image-{pinId}` keys. Downloads accept only HTTPS Pinterest image-CDN URLs, common image media types, non-empty bodies, and files no larger than 20 MiB. The Actor uses bounded scrolling, sequential downloads, a 100-item cap, and short network timeouts.

### Limitations and responsible use

- Pinterest can vary public markup or require authentication by location. A verification/login response is a controlled failure, never something this Actor attempts to bypass.
- A requested width means the closest candidate already present in public page markup; it does not guarantee that exact resolution.
- Ensure your use of downloaded material respects Pinterest's terms, source-site terms, copyright, privacy, and applicable law.

### Local development

Use Node.js 22, then run `npm ci`, `npm test`, `npm run check`, `apify validate-schema`, and `apify run --purge`. Local Chrome is used when installed at the standard Windows path; Apify cloud uses the matching Playwright Chrome image.
