## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Apify Store Scraper

Scrape and analyze 20,000+ public actors from the Apify Store. Built for portfolio research, competitive intelligence, and pricing analysis.

### What you get per actor

- **Identity:** id, name, title, username, owner full name, profile pictures
- **Discovery:** description, categories, badge, URL
- **Adoption stats:** totalRuns, totalUsers, totalUsers7Days / 30Days / 90Days, bookmarkCount, lastRunStartedAt
- **Quality stats:** actorReviewRating, actorReviewCount, runs30Days breakdown (SUCCEEDED / FAILED / ABORTED / TIMED-OUT), successRate30d
- **Pricing:** pricingModel, primaryEventPriceUsd, pricingTiersByEvent (FREE / BRONZE / SILVER / GOLD / PLATINUM / DIAMOND per event), apifyMarginPercentage, pricingStartedAt
- **Detail enrichment (optional):** createdAt, modifiedAt, exampleRunInput, isPublic, isDeprecated

### Use cases

- **Niche research:** search "instagram" / "linkedin" / "shopify" and rank competitors by 30-day users
- **Pricing benchmarks:** see what every actor in your category charges across all tiers
- **Market gaps:** filter `minTotalUsers > 100` and `category=X` to map the established players
- **Portfolio audit:** scrape `username=` your own profile and dump stats for every actor
- **Hot-and-rising:** sort by `newest` + filter `minTotalUsers > 10` to find rising actors in their first weeks

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `searchTerm` | Free-text search across titles, names, descriptions. |
| `category` | One of: AGENTS, AI, AUTOMATION, BUSINESS, DEVELOPER\_TOOLS, ECOMMERCE, EDUCATION, INTEGRATIONS, JOBS, LEAD\_GENERATION, MARKETING, NEWS, OPEN\_SOURCE, OTHER, REAL\_ESTATE, SEO\_TOOLS, SOCIAL\_MEDIA, TRAVEL, VIDEOS. |
| `sortBy` | popularity / newest / relevance / totalUsers. |
| `maxItems` | Cap on returned actors. The store has 20,000+ — be specific. |
| `enrichWithDetails` | Adds createdAt, modifiedAt, exampleRunInput. Same flat price either way. |
| `minTotalUsers` | Filter out abandoned / test actors. |
| `pricingModelFilter` | PAY\_PER\_EVENT / PAY\_PER\_USAGE / PAY\_PER\_RESULT / FREE / FLAT\_PRICE\_PER\_MONTH. |

### Pricing

**$0.003 per actor scraped.** Pay-per-event. 1000 actors = $3.

### Notes

- Uses Apify's own public Store API (no auth, no scraping needed for listing data).
- The API filters some actors server-side (deprecated, draft, etc.) — counts toward offset, so pagination converges correctly.
- Detail enrichment runs at concurrency=8 to keep wall-time low.
- No proxy required.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerm` (type: `string`):

Search across actor titles, names, and descriptions (e.g. 'instagram', 'shopee', 'pdf'). Leave empty to list all.

## `category` (type: `string`):

Filter by Apify Store category. Leave empty for no filter.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

How to sort the results.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of actors to return.

## `enrichWithDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds extra fields from /v2/acts/{id}: createdAt, modifiedAt, builds, exampleRunInput. Doubles the API call count - cost is the same flat $0.003/actor regardless.

## `minTotalUsers` (type: `integer`):

Drop actors below this cumulative user count. Useful to filter abandoned/private/test actors.

## `minTotalUsers30Days` (type: `integer`):

Drop actors below this 30-day active user count. Cleaner signal than total users (which is cumulative).

## `pricingModelFilter` (type: `string`):

Only return actors with this pricing model.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchTerm": "",
  "category": "",
  "sortBy": "popularity",
  "maxItems": 50,
  "enrichWithDetails": true,
  "minTotalUsers": 0,
  "minTotalUsers30Days": 0,
  "pricingModelFilter": ""
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

All scraped Apify Store actors with stats, pricing, categories, owner, URL.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "maxItems": 50
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("gio21/apify-store-scraper").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
