## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Patreon Creator Scraper Goat - Find Creators by Niche with Patron Counts, Tiers & MRR Estimates

The Patreon scraper that **estimates revenue, not just patron counts**. It turns each creator's patron numbers into a defensible **MRR/ARR estimate** (three fallback methods), alongside tier prices, social links across 10+ platforms, and full creator bios - one clean row per creator. No Patreon API key needed, and no per-run start fee. Works entirely through Patreon's public search endpoint.

### What this Patreon scraper does

For each keyword you provide, the actor:

1. **Searches Patreon's discovery API** for matching creators (up to 50 pages × 20 creators per keyword).
2. **Enriches every creator** with full campaign details: tier list with prices and patron counts, public earnings (when the creator opts in), full bio, social links across 10+ platforms.
3. **Estimates MRR/ARR** using one of three methods - public earnings (when declared), sum of tier-price × patron count, or patron count × median tier price.
4. **Outputs a clean ordered row per creator** - identity → audience size → earnings → tiers → creator profile → social links → metadata. Drop into a spreadsheet or CRM with zero post-processing.

Perfect for **creator outreach, lead generation, market research, MRR research, influencer discovery, agency prospecting** on Patreon.

### Why use this Patreon scraper

- **No Patreon API key required** - uses Patreon's public web search endpoint.
- **Bulk keyword search** - feed it niches (podcast, art, gaming, fitness, true crime) or single letters for broad discovery.
- **Real MRR estimates** - 3 fallback methods give you a defensible monthly revenue figure for every creator.
- **Full tier data** - every tier with price, patron count, and description (not just the cheapest or most expensive).
- **Social links across 10+ platforms** - YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Twitch, TikTok, Spotify, Discord, Reddit, Vimeo.
- **Clean output schema** - semantically ordered fields for spreadsheets, CSVs, and SQL imports.
- **Residential proxy rotation** built in.

### How to use the Patreon Creator Scraper

1. Click **Try for free** on the actor page.
2. Enter **keywords** in `keywords` - niches (podcast, comics, gaming), broader terms, or single letters a-z for wide discovery.
3. Set **Max Pages Per Keyword** (default 1 = 20 creators per keyword; up to 50 pages = 1,000 creators).
4. Leave **Enrich with Tiers, Earnings & Socials** on for the full data set; turn it off if you only need basic search results (faster, less data).
5. Click **Save & start**. Download in JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or HTML.

### Top use cases

- **Influencer outreach** - find creators in your niche with their social links pre-populated.
- **Agency prospecting** - identify Patreon creators above $5k MRR for partnership conversations.
- **Market research** - average tier pricing, median patron counts, MRR distribution by niche.
- **Lead generation** - export creators with public bios + email-linked social profiles.
- **Competitive analysis** - track competing creators' patron growth over time.
- **Newsletter / podcast targeting** - find creators by topic to pitch collaborations.
- **Investment research** - identify high-MRR creators for content business acquisitions.

### MRR estimate methods

Every creator row includes `estimatedMrrUsd`, `estimatedArrUsd`, and a `mrrEstimateMethod` field telling you which of the three fallback methods produced the number, so you know how confident to be in the figure.

| Method | When used | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| `publicEarnings` | Creator has set their earnings to public | High - exact figure |
| `tierWeightedSum` | Patreon exposes per-tier patron counts (rare since 2024) | High |
| `patronsAtLowestTier` | Fallback: patron count × lowest tier price | Conservative floor - real MRR is typically 1.5-3× this |

Patreon stopped exposing per-tier patron counts publicly in 2024, so most modern results use `patronsAtLowestTier` - a conservative floor that won't over-estimate. Multiply by ~2 for a realistic ballpark on most creators.

### Pricing

Pay-per-result. No subscription and **no per-run start fee**. Tier, MRR, and social enrichment are included at no surcharge, and failed or empty fetches are never billed.

| What you pay for | Price |
|---|---|
| Per creator returned (with full MRR + tier + social enrichment) | $0.004 |

You pay only for the creators returned, enrichment included. Apify's $5 platform free credit applies on first use.

### FAQ

#### Do I need a Patreon API key or login?

No. The scraper uses Patreon's public web search endpoint and public campaign data.

#### How accurate are the MRR estimates?

Most accurate when the creator has set their earnings to public (`earningsVisibility: "public"`). Otherwise the estimate is derived from tier-price × patron-count math which is usually within 20-40% of true MRR.

#### Why are some social fields missing?

Creators set their own social-media connections on Patreon. Missing fields mean the creator hasn't linked that platform on their profile.

#### Can I search by specific MRR or patron-count thresholds?

Not directly in the actor - filter the resulting dataset in Apify's UI or export to a spreadsheet and filter there. Each row has `patronCount`, `estimatedMrrUsd`, `tierCount` for easy filtering.

#### Does this work for NSFW creators?

Yes - both SFW and NSFW Patreon creators are returned. The `isNsfw` flag lets you filter either way.

#### How fast is it?

1 keyword × 1 page (20 creators) with enrichment: ~30 seconds. 10 keywords × 5 pages with enrichment: ~10 minutes.

#### What if Patreon rate-limits me?

Built-in: retries with exponential backoff, residential proxy rotation per request, configurable batch sizes.

#### Can I export to CSV / Google Sheets / Excel?

Yes - JSON / CSV / Excel / XML / HTML all supported, plus native integrations.
