## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## PayPay Flea Market Japan Asking Prices — Median & Likes

**What it does:** Looks up live listings on PayPay Flea Market for your keyword and returns a one-line price summary (asking prices — the site does not show sold items).

**You enter:** keywords, e.g. `ポケモンカード リザードン psa10` (Japanese works best; brand names like `Leica M6` also work)

**You get:** median asking price, middle 50% range, lowest–highest, average, like count (median and range), total listings found — in yen and US dollars, from the first 100 listings. Optionally every sampled listing, one row each (off by default).

**Price:** $0.02 per keyword. +$0.002 per listing if you also want the list (off by default). No results = no charge.

**Example:** enter `ポケモンカード リザードン psa10` → median ¥82,950 · range ¥5,480–599,999 · typically 4 likes · measured on 100 of the 20,195 listings found (real run, 2026-08-17)

> Unofficial — not affiliated with PayPay Flea Market. Reads public pages only.

```json
{
    "keywords": ["ポケモンカード リザードン psa10"],
    "maxItemsPerKeyword": 100,
    "convertToUsd": true
}
```

### Why PayPay Flea Market?

PayPayフリマ is Japan's #2 flea-market app (LY Corporation), full of trading cards, anime figures, retro games, cameras, and fashion — often priced differently from Mercari for the exact same item. One keyword gives you:

- **A price to work from before you buy or sell** — the median and the middle 50% range of what is listed right now, in yen and US dollars
- **A second opinion from Mercari** — run our [Mercari Japan Price Checker](https://apify.com/jpmarketdata/mercari-japan-price-checker) on the same keyword to see the gap between the two sites
- **A read on demand** — the like counts show what buyers are actually watching
- **Something you can put straight into a spreadsheet or an AI agent** — one row per keyword

### Pricing — know your cost before you run

You pay per keyword; there is no monthly fee.

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Price summary (one per keyword) | **$0.02** |
| Individual listing record (optional, off by default) | $0.002 each |

- **A default run costs a flat $0.02 per keyword** — the summary is the product. 10 keywords = $0.20.
- Want the listings themselves, one row each? Turn on *Include individual listings*: 100 listings add $0.20.
- Keywords with zero results are never charged — you still get the row, saying the keyword was not found and what to try instead (see **Output**).

### Input example

```json
{
    "keywords": ["ポケモンカード リザードン psa10", "Leica M6"],
    "maxItemsPerKeyword": 100,
    "convertToUsd": true
}
```

### Output

One `price_summary` record per keyword. Measured on 2026-08-17 (real run, keyword `ポケモンカード リザードン psa10`):

```json
{
    "type": "price_summary",
    "keyword": "ポケモンカード リザードン psa10",
    "status": "on_sale",
    "totalListingsFound": 20195,
    "sampledListings": 100,
    "priceJpy": { "min": 5480, "p25": 36350, "median": 82950, "p75": 130500, "max": 599999, "average": 105096 },
    "priceUsd": { "min": 34.42, "p25": 228.31, "median": 521.01, "p75": 819.67, "max": 3768.59, "average": 660.11 },
    "likeCountStats": { "min": 0, "p25": 2, "median": 4, "p75": 9, "max": 115, "average": 7 },
    "exchangeRateJpyUsd": 0.006281,
    "checkedAt": "2026-08-17T17:43:47.268517+00:00"
}
```

Plus (optional) every listing read, one row each, with title, price (JPY + USD), condition, likes, category, brand, listing date, photo, and a direct paypayfleamarket.yahoo.co.jp URL.

Every row also carries `keywordStatus` — `ok` when PayPay has listings under that word, `not_found` when it has none. (Added 2026-08-18, so it is not in the older run above.)

**A keyword PayPay has nothing for still returns a row, free.** Measured on 2026-08-18 (live search page for `zzzqqxnotarealproduct`, built by this Actor from that page):

```json
{
    "type": "price_summary",
    "keyword": "zzzqqxnotarealproduct",
    "status": "on_sale",
    "keywordStatus": "not_found",
    "totalListingsFound": 0,
    "sampledListings": 0,
    "priceJpy": { "min": null, "p25": null, "median": null, "p75": null, "max": null, "average": null },
    "likeCountStats": { "min": null, "p25": null, "median": null, "p75": null, "max": null, "average": null },
    "hint": "Use the Japanese product name (e.g. カメラ for 'camera') — PayPay matches the words sellers type into their listing titles, and those are written in Japanese."
}
```

(plus `checkedAt`, as above.) The run ends normally and nothing is charged. A run only fails when the site could not be read at all.

**If you misspell a keyword, PayPay searches a corrected word instead** — measured on 2026-08-18, `Nikonn Z6 bodyy` was answered with listings for `ニコン Z6 bodyy`. Those are a different word's listings, so they are never counted here: the row comes back with 0 results and `queryRewrittenTo: "ニコン Z6 bodyy"`, and you decide whether to run the corrected word.

Note: the public search returns **live listings only**, so every number here is an asking price, not what an item sold for. Like counts are the demand signal instead.

### Use with AI agents

This Actor can be called from the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com), so Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-connected agents can look up Japanese asking prices on their own.

### Fair use & data

- Reads only **publicly visible listing data** — no login; no seller information is returned
- Requests are spaced out to keep the load on the site small
- Not affiliated with LY Corporation. Data is provided for market research; verify before large transactions

### Roadmap

Category filters, and a side-by-side view against Mercari prices. (Sold prices are not on the list: PayPay Flea Market's public search does not expose them.) Feedback via the Issues tab is very welcome.

### If something goes wrong

- **Wrong number or a failed run?** Open a ticket on the **Issues** tab. I read every one and reply within 2 business days (Japan time).
- **You never get a fake "empty" result.** If the site can't be read, the run fails and says so.
- **No results = no charge.** You only pay for results you actually get.
- **Checked every week.** An automatic test runs this tool weekly; if the site changes, I fix it.
- **Public pages only.** No login, no personal data, and it goes easy on the site.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

One or more search queries. Japanese keywords give the best coverage (e.g. 'ポケモンカード リザードン psa10'), but English brand names also work.

## `maxItemsPerKeyword` (type: `integer`):

How many live listings to sample per keyword. 100 = one result page. More items = better statistics. Affects cost only when 'Include individual listings' is enabled (+$0.002 per listing).

## `includeIndividualItems` (type: `boolean`):

Off by default: a run costs a flat $0.02 per keyword (price summary only). Enable to also get every sampled listing (title, price, condition, likes, listing date, URL, photo) at +$0.002 per listing.

## `convertToUsd` (type: `boolean`):

Adds USD prices next to JPY using the current exchange rate (open.er-api.com).
