## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## SD Bullion Scraper

Scrape precious-metals products from [SD Bullion](https://sdbullion.com) — one of the largest online gold, silver, platinum and palladium retailers. Search any bullion product and get clean, structured JSON.

### What it extracts

For each product:

- **title** — full product name
- **metal** — Gold / Silver / Platinum / Palladium (derived from the title)
- **productType** — Coin / Bar / Round / Note
- **weight** — metal content in troy ounces (parsed from the title, incl. fractional oz, grams, kilos)
- **purity** — fineness (e.g. `.999`, `.9999`, `22k`)
- **price** — current price in USD (SD Bullion's "as low as" check/wire price)
- **premiumOverSpot / premiumPercent** — estimated premium over melt value (best-effort, uses live spot prices)
- **paymentTiers** — optional quantity-based pricing tiers per payment method (Check/Wire, Bitcoin, Card/PayPal) — enable **Scrape Payment Pricing Tiers**
- **inStock** — availability
- **sku**, **productId**, **image**, **url**, **searchQuery**, **scrapedAt**

### Input

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `searchQueries` | List of search terms (e.g. `silver eagle`, `gold coin`, `krugerrand`) |
| `metal` | Filter by metal (Any/Gold/Silver/Platinum/Palladium) |
| `productType` | Filter by type (Any/Coin/Bar/Round/Note) |
| `maxResults` | Max products per query |
| `minPrice` / `maxPrice` | Price range filter (USD) |
| `inStockOnly` | Only in-stock products |
| `scrapeDetails` | Also fetch per-product payment pricing tiers (slower) |
| `computePremium` | Fetch live spot prices to estimate premium over spot |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["silver eagle", "gold coin"],
  "metal": "Any",
  "maxResults": 100,
  "inStockOnly": true
}
```

### Output sample

{
  "title": "2021 1 oz South African Silver Krugerrand Coin",

  "weight": 1,
  "purity": ".999",
  "price": 71.63,

  "url": "https://sdbullion.com/2021-1-oz-south-african-silver-krugerrand-coin"
}
```
### Use cases
- Track bullion prices and premiums across dealers
- Build price-comparison / arbitrage tools
- Monitor inventory and availability
- Feed pricing dashboards and alerts
Pricing is pay-per-result. Not affiliated with SD Bullion.
# Actor input Schema
## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):
## `metal` (type: `string`):
Filter results by metal (derived from the product title).
## `productType` (type: `string`):
Filter results by product type (derived from the product title).
## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
Maximum number of products to scrape per query (each page returns up to 48).
## `minPrice` (type: `number`):
Filter: only return products at or above this price (USD).
## `maxPrice` (type: `number`):
Filter: only return products at or below this price (USD).
## `inStockOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Only return products that are currently in stock.
## `scrapeDetails` (type: `boolean`):
Fetch each product's detail page to add quantity-based payment pricing tiers (Check/Wire, Bitcoin, Card/PayPal). Slower.
## `computePremium` (type: `boolean`):
Fetch live spot prices and estimate premium over melt value (best-effort; requires weight parsed from the title).
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Proxy settings. SD Bullion works without proxies (SSR HTML is served to a normal browser user-agent).
