## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Bing Search Scraper - SERP Results & Real URLs

> **Disclaimer:** This Actor is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft Corporation or any of its subsidiaries. All trademarks mentioned are the property of their respective owners. "Bing" is referenced only to describe the publicly available website this Actor collects data from.

Scrape **Bing** search results at scale and get back the **real destination URL** for every result — already decoded, ready to crawl. **No login, no API key.**

Built for SEO rank tracking, competitor research, link prospecting, crawl seed lists and feeding live search results to an AI agent.

***

### The thing that makes this different: real URLs

Every link on a Bing SERP is a `bing.com/ck/a?…` redirect. Following one costs an extra HTTP request **per result**, and the links expire.

Bing hides the true destination inside that redirect as base64. This actor **decodes it locally**, so every row already carries the final URL — no extra requests, no expiry. Measured: **32 of 32 results returned a real, non-Bing URL.**

### What you get

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `title` | Result title |
| `url` | **Real destination URL**, decoded |
| `displayUrl` | The URL as Bing shows it |
| `domain` | Hostname, ready to group by |
| `description` | Result snippet |
| `rank`, `rankOnPage`, `page` | Position overall and within the page |
| `redirectUrl` | Bing's original redirect, if you want it |
| `queryMatched` | Whether the result actually mentions your query |
| `query`, `market` | What was searched, and in which market |

Every row carries every field, so your CSV never has ragged columns.

### Features

- **Market targeting** — `en-US`, `en-GB`, `de-DE`, `fr-FR`…
- **Domain exclusion** — drop `pinterest.com` and friends from your results
- **Pagination** — about 10 results per page

***

### Example input

```json
{
  "queries": ["crm software", "site:github.com web scraper"],
  "market": "en-GB",
  "excludeDomains": ["pinterest.com"],
  "maxPagesPerQuery": 3,
  "maxResults": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": true, "apifyProxyGroups": ["RESIDENTIAL"] }
}
```

### Example output

```json
{
  "type": "result",
  "query": "crm software",
  "page": 1,
  "rank": 1,
  "title": "10 Best CRM Software Of 2026 – Forbes Advisor",
  "url": "https://www.forbes.com/advisor/business/software/best-crm-software/",
  "displayUrl": "https://www.forbes.com/advisor/business/software/best-crm-software",
  "domain": "forbes.com",
  "description": "Compare top CRM options to find the best fit for your needs and budget…",
  "queryMatched": true
}
```

### Pricing

**$0.002 per result.** You are charged only for rows actually delivered to your dataset.

### You are not billed for junk results

A search engine never returns an empty page. Give it a term it cannot match and it serves **unrelated filler**. By default (`requireQueryMatch`) this actor recognises that: if a query's first page contains no result mentioning your term, nothing is stored and **nothing is billed**, and the run tells you so. Turn it off to keep whatever Bing returns.

### Honest limits

- **This is Bing's web index, not Google's.** Rankings differ — that's the point if you're tracking Bing specifically or want a second opinion, but don't expect Google's result set.
- **Advanced operators do not work.** `site:`, `intitle:`, `filetype:` and friends make Bing return a JavaScript-only page with no result markup at all (verified). A run using them returns 0 rows, costs **$0**, and says so plainly rather than pretending the proxy failed. Use plain keywords.
- **About 10 results per page.** Deep pagination on Bing recycles results, so the actor stops a query after two consecutive pages that add nothing new rather than billing you for repeats.
- **Bing sometimes serves a "rich" layout** carrying only 2-6 organic results instead of 10 (about a third of requests). The actor detects that and retries on a fresh session, so you get the full page rather than a fifth of it.
- Use the **residential proxy** (the default). Bing throttles per IP under volume.

### Automate & schedule

Run this Actor on autopilot and pull results into your own stack:

- **[Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2)** - start runs, fetch datasets and manage schedules over REST.
- **[apify-client for JavaScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/)** and **[apify-client for Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/)** - official SDKs.
- **[Schedules](https://docs.apify.com/platform/schedules)** - run it hourly, daily or weekly and keep your dataset current.
- **[Webhooks](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/webhooks)** - trigger downstream actions (CRM import, Slack alert, email sequence) the moment a run finishes.

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'MY_APIFY_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('scrapesage/bing-search-scraper').call({
    "queries": [
        "crm software"
    ],
    "maxPagesPerQuery": 2,
    "maxResults": 50,
    "proxyConfiguration": {
        "useApifyProxy": true,
        "apifyProxyGroups": [
            "RESIDENTIAL"
        ]
    }
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(`Got ${items.length} records`);
```

### Integrate with any app

Connect the dataset to thousands of apps - no code required:

- **[Make](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/make)** - multi-step automation scenarios.
- **[Zapier](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/zapier)** - push new records straight into your CRM or spreadsheet.
- **[Slack](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/slack)** - get notified when a scheduled run finds something new.
- **[Google Drive / Sheets](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/drive)** - auto-export every run to a spreadsheet.
- **[Airbyte](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/airbyte)** - pipe results into your data warehouse.
- **[GitHub](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/github)** - trigger runs from commits or releases.

### Use with AI assistants (MCP)

The output is clean, LLM-ready JSON. You can call this Actor from Claude, ChatGPT or any agent framework through the **[Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp)** - describe the data you need and let the assistant run this Actor for you.

### Agent-ready: autonomous payments (x402 & Skyfire)

This actor is **agent-ready** — AI agents can discover it, run it, and **pay for it autonomously**, with no Apify account and no human in the loop. It uses [pay-per-event](https://docs.apify.com/platform/actors/publishing/monetize/pay-per-event) pricing and [limited permissions](https://docs.apify.com/platform/actors/development/permissions), so it qualifies for Apify's agentic-payment standards:

- **[x402](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/x402)** — an open, HTTP-native payment protocol. Agents pay per run in USDC on the Base network directly through the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp) — no account, no API key.
- **[Skyfire](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/skyfire)** — agent-to-service payments for fully autonomous AI-agent workflows.

Building an AI agent, MCP tool, or autonomous data pipeline? This scraper is ready to plug in and pay as it goes.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

What to search Bing for. Use plain keywords - Bing serves a JS-only page with no results for advanced operators (site:, intitle:, filetype:), so those return nothing here.

## `market` (type: `string`):

Bing market code to localise results, e.g. en-US, en-GB, de-DE, fr-FR, es-ES. Leave empty for Bing's default.

## `maxPagesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Bing returns about 10 results per page.

## `requireQueryMatch` (type: `boolean`):

A search engine answers a term it cannot match with unrelated filler instead of an empty page. With this on, a query whose first page contains no result mentioning the term is treated as having no genuine matches - nothing is stored and nothing is billed. Turn off to keep whatever Bing returns.

## `excludeDomains` (type: `array`):

Drop results from these domains, e.g. pinterest.com, quora.com.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Total cap across every query and page. Set 0 for no limit (explicit opt-in).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Bing throttles per IP under volume, so a residential proxy is recommended.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "crm software",
    "best running shoes"
  ],
  "market": "en-GB",
  "maxPagesPerQuery": 3,
  "requireQueryMatch": true,
  "excludeDomains": [
    "pinterest.com"
  ],
  "maxResults": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ]
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Every scraped result as a JSON item in the default dataset.
