## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Kwantum Scraper

Extracts product data from Kwantum.nl, a Dutch home decor and furnishing store known for affordable curtains, lamps, rugs, and furniture.

### Technical details

The scraper uses got-scraping (not a full browser) to fetch pages. It reads JSON-LD structured data (`ProductGroup` or `Product` schema) from product pages. Listing pages are parsed via `ItemList` JSON-LD, and detail pages are fetched in parallel batches of 5.

Kwantum runs on a Chakra UI frontend, so discount detection looks for "Je bespaart" savings text rather than standard `<del>` tags.

### Input

| `maxResults` | Integer | No | Limit (default: 100) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Object | No | Proxy settings |

\*At least one of `searchQuery` or `categoryUrl` is required.

    "category": "Vloerkleden > Vloerkleed",
    "url": "https://www.kwantum.nl/wonen/vloerkleden/vloerkleed-sahara-160x230cm",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-03-16T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```
### How to scrape Kwantum data
1. Create an Apify account (free tier available)
2. Open the Kwantum Scraper actor page
3. Enter a search query (e.g. "gordijn") or paste a category URL from kwantum.nl
4. Click "Start" to begin scraping
5. Download results as JSON, CSV, or Excel when the run finishes
You can also call the actor via the Apify API or schedule recurring runs for automated price monitoring.
### Use cases
- **Price monitoring** -- Track home decor and furniture prices over time
- **Competitor analysis** -- Compare Kwantum prices with other Dutch home furnishing stores like IKEA and Leen Bakker
- **Market research** -- Analyze product assortment, materials, and pricing strategies
- **E-commerce feeds** -- Export product catalogs for price comparison platforms
- **Inventory tracking** -- Monitor stock availability for specific products
### Integrations
Connect Kwantum Scraper results to your existing tools:
- **Google Sheets** -- Automatic export after every run
- **Slack / Email** -- Get notified when prices change or items go on sale
- **Webhooks** -- Push data to your own API endpoint
- **Zapier / Make** -- Connect to 5,000+ apps without code
### Popular categories to scrape
Gordijnen (curtains), Vloerkleden (rugs), Verlichting (lighting), Meubels (furniture), Raamdecoratie (window coverings), Woonaccessoires (home accessories), Behang (wallpaper), Verf (paint).
### Cost estimate
HTTP-based scraper, no browser needed. Roughly **$0.30 per 1,000 products**.
### Limitations
- Kwantum is a Dutch-only retailer (kwantum.nl)
- Extra fields like `color`, `material`, `dimensions`, and `weight` are pulled from JSON-LD when available
- Breadcrumb-based category paths come from the BreadcrumbList JSON-LD schema
- Data is scraped from the public website and may change without notice
### Changelog
- **v0.1** -- Initial release with search and category scraping support
