The core of the game is still the same: entire armies of enemies rush at your defenses, trying to destroy them by any means necessary. But now they’re even more powerful and madder than ever.
You’ll have access to older, time-tested turrets, as well as completely new types of weapons. It’s up to you to decide how to spend your available budget. Should you build new towers or upgrade and fortify the ones you already have? Turrets vary in terms of their attack range, firing speed, and damage type. The only way to win is to combine them so that they complement and strengthen one another.
The flexible difficulty settings will allow every player to get as much enjoyment out of the game as possible. If you’re an experienced commander, you’ll love the merciless, intense battles where the countdown where even a fraction of a second is vital to success and everything hinges on your ability to choose and arrange your turrets wisely. If you’re a new player, you’ll easily be able to train and prepare yourself for serious battles.
Either way, the thoughtfully designed maps and wide range of available turrets will provide you with virtually endless tactical options. Thanks to the stunning, detailed landscapes, painstakingly drawn towers, and incredible special effect, you won’t be able to take your eyes off the screen.

Great game, but hard without buying coins

While the first two levels are rather easy, I have been stuck on the third map for many days because I have not bought any coins to access higher level weapons. So be prepared to put more money into this game unless you are an expert game player.

This is indeed more difficult than the previous version, but the challenge is fun. You don’t really have to buy extras, just be patient while thinking carefully about how to deploy your existing resources most effectively. The game, graphics etc are very well done. This is not just the previous version with a few extra levels tacked on.The one thing I miss from the previous version is the ability to save the game at specific points. I might be missing something obvious due to the UI rearrangement. If a particular wave is going badly, and you want start, just quit and come back into it and it will pick up from the beginning of that wave, so all is not lost, but the manual save was nice to have.

The game does expand the amount of upgrades to towers and the variety of player interactions with the battlefield, but beyond the first six levels or so the game becomes extremely tedious with the levels lasting for hours to complete. If you just want a quick tower defense diversion, this game is not for you.

This was working just fine until the latest'bug fix' now it crashes my mac mini every time I try and load it. Not sure if it is the new Mac OS (Monterey 12.3.1) or the 'bug fix' ... but save your money, it dont work, hopefully they will fix it
