Enter Detail, a behind-the-scenes crew that handles production and post, so your creativity can be the star. Whether you want to chase Hollywood fame, connect with a community online or simply make amazing video updates for your family, Detail saves you hours of work selecting, splitting and trimming clips.
When we used Detail to record a conversation of two people sitting side by side, the app automatically created a cut that looked like it was captured with two cameras. It zoomed in on one speaker, then cut away to the other person’s reaction.
The app also made it easy to unleash our inner influencer. We typed a few key points, and the app’s AI wrote a playful script that it loaded into its teleprompter so we could read straight to the camera.
Most importantly, Detail helped us memorialise significant life moments all while staying present. At a birthday party, we propped an iPad on a table and used Detail to record with the front and back cameras simultaneously. The result was a split-screen video with everyone singing “Happy Birthday” on the left and the guest of honour blowing out the candles on the right. (No designated cameraperson needed.)
In a year when AI let us generate videos of pretty much anything we could imagine, Detail did something just as thrilling: it made it easier to share our passion and expertise with others.

Aside from their roles designing, building and maintaining the app, Detail’s 14 employees (based in Europe, Canada and South Africa) are also content creators. They use the app every day to make videos about how easy it is to use.
Meet the creator
Dutch entrepreneur (and self-proclaimed workaholic) Paul Veugen founded Detail in 2020. Veugen, a former competitive rower, previously built the fitness-tracking app Human.
