Worst experience ever

I had a very disappointing experience dealing with Airbnb.I booked what was advertised as a “5-star apartment” in Egypt through the platform, but the actual condition of the property was nowhere near what was presented.The listing included amenities such as electricity and cleaning, yet cleaning was not provided, and the host later tried to charge us extra for it. The apartment itself was also clearly in need of renovation. During our stay, we spent around three days waiting for a plumber and carpenter to come and fix issues in the property.Even on our last day, workers came to install closets, meaning we had to spend part of our final day in the apartment with workers carrying out renovation work.What made the situation worse was Airbnb’s customer support. I reported the issues and expected Airbnb to properly review the case and protect the rights of the guest, especially considering that the property did not match the standard advertised on the platform.Instead, I spent almost three weeks being passed from one customer support agent to another, repeatedly explaining the same situation. Eventually, the last agent simply told me there was nothing they could do and closed the conversation entirely.I expected Airbnb to operate with higher standards, both when it comes to the accuracy of listings and the way guest complaints are handled. At the very least, I expected a proper investigation and a fair resolution.Instead, customer support wasted a significant amount of my time without resolving the issue.This experience has seriously affected my trust in booking through Airbnb again.

My family and i had booked a large apartment to stay in for a week. Once we had reached our destination, the apartment was not there. We called the airbnb customer support but none of them would give us the host’s contact details as it was ‘against their rules’. We had asked them every nicely to help us but they had ended the call while we were speaking to them in a rude fashion. They had refused to take any of the blame even though we had booked through the application itself. After taking the matter legally, the company still says that it was never their fault and still refused to give us the host's details. This is not reliable application, i only wanted to post this review to give everybody a warning and would rather you stay with a friend/family or please book a well-known hotel. Enjoy your vacation!
