    A thoughtful and passionately ironic deconstruction of romance, obsession, and dysfunction. The lyrics cut as deep as CJ always has, but sometimes feel so personal that no one gets the references but Douglas himself. Nonetheless, the sheer passion and emotion behind the music is evident, as is the skill and quality. A good-ass album.

    While it's not the classic that Dog Whistle was, Trouble the Water is still a solid album. More abstracted lyrics with less of a specific political message are different but still interesting. The slower pace of Out of Place and the acoustic opening of WW4 provide variety even though songs like War Not Beef may come off as generic punk.

    An album made just for me. For a former loser who listened to lofi bedroom punk/screamo in the early to mid 2010s. It's intensely personal and viciously vurnable. Combining the wails of Henry Bemis Is A Superhero with the production quality of Midwest emo. It's hilarious, it's sad, it's everything I didn't I wanted from a punk album.
