  1. Out In The Moonlight
    by Skyhill
Howling at the Moon Howling at the Moon
Gutted I didn’t manage to acquire the official CD of this one but at least I can make my own with these digital files. This album got me through some tough spots during grad school! Dan’s voice is always a treat and I was happy to see Skyhill return for this project.
  2. One That Got Away
    by MUNA
  3. Dancing On The Wall
    by MUNA
It Gets So Hot It Gets So Hot
A stunning return to form with all the growth this band has achieved since their first album! I struggle to pick a favorite, because each song has its own unique energy while being a great cohesive package of pop excitement. Loved the complex themes that got tackled in this one.
  4. Let Me Go (Digital)
    by Body of Light
  5. Wolf In The Night + Remixes
    by Ritual Veil
All Black (Remix) All Black (Remix)
I technically own this album twice digitally and once physically. It has my seal of approval, and I wanted to make sure I had the fun remixes on hand!
  6. Keep Looking Down
    by Ritual Veil
Keep Looking Down Keep Looking Down
Three excellent punchy additions to the roster of Ritual Veil songs! The synth noises on the first track in particular make it easy to slot in among some of my favorites like Bad Boys Blue. 80's with some freshness!!
  7. Chains [VOX 80 CD]
    by SUPERNOVA 1006
How They Know How They Know
This was a favorite album for me last year (2024) and I’m overjoyed to be able to get a CD of it. Both vocalists are absolutely phenomenal at capturing a tone that is hard to forget, and combined with their gently frantic beats it lends to a need to Pay Attention while also being a lovely treat to the ears. Picking a favorite is impossible! I will happily sit and listen to the whole thing.
  8. Wolf In The Night [VOX 37 MC]
    by Ritual Veil
    Grey Filter Grey Filter
Discovering this one was a bit like a perfectly timed leaf landing in my lap. Absolutely adore the dulcet tones of the vocals, lots of lovely little zings of sound that my brain latches on to, while full of the post-punk energy I adore!
  9. Chrysalis
    by Zanias
  10. Mirror Mirror
    by The Secret Light
    Circuits Collide Circuits Collide
All the little sounds included in the compositions makes every minute of the songs feel like they’re evolving as you listen, and the vocals are haunting in a way I adore. They straddle the edge of hope and despair in a way that’s very compelling to listen to. I’m hoping we will see more from them!! But if this album is all we get, it’s a gift in itself. 🖤
  11. The Shadow
    by Trevor Something
Lost In The Dark Lost In The Dark
Trevor consistently makes the music that I can turn my brain off to where the lyrics should perhaps raise some questions but the beat is too intense to deny.
  12. Everything
    by Ocoeur
    Dawn Dawn
  13. Lackluster
    by Era Nocturna
if only i could if only i could
The melancholic aching of this genre is masterfully captured in this collection of works, and I find myself easily lost in Dae’s vocals. I knew I was going to listen to it on repeat from the moment I discovered it, and had to support.
