mamanche A very thoughtful and emotional work of art. Many feelings were felt and tears were wept through my various listenings to Binary's first full-fledged album. Favorite track: Sub–Periphery.

about

Designed between 2023 and 2025, the first studio album by Binary Algorithms frames a narrative of decay and despair, where the Latin—American periphery, the hopelessness of unlove, and the tragedy of resistance in the Global South collide. Crashing IDM, dub–techno and electro with UK bass and ambient influences, Binary Algorithms also traces the dichotomy of 'Latin' identities, so often reduced to the 'tropical'.

Nevertheless, Reminiscencias is not bound to a single storyline thread. It is an intimate cartography of places lived and left behind, where personal memory and collective history intersect. Street corners marked by absence, half–lit rooms where voices once lingered, bus rides through sprawling outskirts, the distant hum of markets fading into concrete silence. Sounds of Andrés surroundings — from rural parkways to the low drone of traffic along cracked highways — merge with fragments of recollection: fleeting encounters, letters never sent, the weight of unspoken words. These spaces are imprinted with stories of resilience and loss, echoing far beyond their physical boundaries.

Each composition moves amid abrasive rhythmic structures, expansive atmospheric passages and fine-crafted sound design, evoking the tension between resilience and collapse, nostalgia and futures that never came to be, promised utopias and merciless truth. In this convergence, the LP becomes both a document and a reflection — a soundscape shaped by time, loss, and the spaces left among them.

> Seguir adelante no porque hay un mañana mejor, sino porque detenerse sería peor. Y en ese acto, en ese camino a través de las cenizas, encontrar lo más humano: la dignidad de pelear, incluso sabiendo que ya lo hemos perdido todo.

> Dedicated to those I’ve lost, and those still here — who’ve shared this journey and kept me going. For the places that hold our memories, and for the ones who made part of this 2 year journey.

— Andrés.
