What is a credit card, and how does it work?
A credit card lets you borrow money up to a certain limit to make purchases. You must pay back what you spend, and if you don’t pay it all back by the due date, you’ll be charged interest.
What is a credit limit?
It’s the maximum amount you can spend with your card. At BR Telco, you have up to a $1,000 limit.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Can I avoid paying interest?
Yes! Pay your full balance by the due date every month and you won’t pay any interest.
Does this card help build credit?
Yes. We’ll report your payment history to the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion), helping you build a credit score with consistent, on-time payments.
Do I need to have a credit history to apply?
Nope. You can get your first card with little or no credit history needed.
Can I upgrade this card later?
Is this card accepted everywhere?
Yes. Visa is accepted at millions of merchants worldwide, both in-store and online. If traveling aboard, you should check transaction fees before traveling.

How do I report my credit card lost or stolen?
If you need to report your card lost or stolen, please contact the credit union during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm) at 225.924.8900. If it’s after hours, please call 888.297.3416 for assistance.
