I have been to an abandoned house which a landlord told my friend as a ghost house. It is very near the place described by the following link.

Wollongong: The site of Wollongong's oldest ghostly encounter is today covered by tonnes of cement. The point where the Princes Hwy passes over the Southern Freeway was in earlier times known as the Crossroads and was the site of a military stockade.
In 1836 Lieutenant Henry Otway and his men were stationed at the stockade to guard convicts as they carried out logging and road construction work.
On April 10, 1836, Otway's life changed dramatically. Following a little more than the usual rum ration Otway attempted to disarm a sentry. It was reported that there was no apparent reason for this action. As a result the sentry placed his commanding officer in the guard room, to await action from his superiors.
It is believed Otway was convinced he would have to leave the army, and to avoid that humiliation he shot himself in the head.
The suicide was followed by reports that Otway's ghost, featuring gun-shot head wounds, had appeared to travellers as they passed through the creek at the Crossroads. The creek was then known as Ghost Creek.
