Salami Dick Death Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath didn't invent Metal....it was Jimi Hendrix and Blue Cheer.

As the first non BLUE hair reviewer lemme say this is an astounding classic rock band so underrated the likes of which is rarely seen. Considering the importance of being likely THE FIRST METAL BAND.

Many genres have spawned because of sounds they conjured up as early as 1967!! Back in the day this was probably like Death Metal to most folks ears. It's beautiful and perfect. Favorite track: Doctor Please.

andymac_74 Any Blue Cheer fan should have this. The version of Summertime Blues sums the band up in many ways- definitely influenced by Hendrix, but also massive precursors of punk rock. Favorite track: Summertime Blues.

about

Blue Cheer were the loudest, heaviest band of the 1960s and they ushered in a new age of searingly loud and upfront rock which would quickly establish itself as the outer-fringe of psychedelia. These three early demo tracks predate their debut album Vincebus Eruptum, and have more grind, guts, and grit than anything they've ever recorded!
