读起来极度舒适。Fainstein算是和Amartya Sen还有Martha Nussbaum一脉相承，认为城市政策的底线是不能进一步侵害弱势群体的利益。

理论部分读不下去，纽约伦敦阿姆斯特丹的案例写得挺好，尤其是扬基队球场的建设历史让人恨得牙痒痒，没想到老友记里的三个直男扬基粉的故事背景竟是贪婪的球队管理层利用民意分文未出取得场馆迁址和建设。出人意料的一点是作者对阿姆斯特丹的种族问题分析并未流于表面。案例看完还觉得意犹未尽，但到结论章节，又是高屋建瓴，便不看了。
