That kind of decision needs a consensus from people for it to be effective, so I'm unable to give a decision either way. I would recommend joining the Discord server if you haven't already and asking in the #articles channel, as you will far likely get a response there as not many people check the forums anymore.

Ah apologies that's an oversight from me, when I edited the template I only had it so it would recognize "'4", added a decimal place needs to be accounted for separately which I have now done so.
-
Thanks for keeping on top of it because as I've said previously each major revision number requires editing the template which can only be done by Senior Editors and above. Though it usually doesn't take long for it to get picked up, up soon as a game comes out supporting the new version and someone tries to type it in and it throws up an error, then someone will go and update the template again. Whenever 4.1 comes out it will need to be updated again. I don't want to do it now as it is too early to know what Nvidia will do.

DLSS version 3.6+ breaks Video template
-
It's a known limitation with the template used that controls the field, along with Mediawiki itself that for each new major iteration the template needs to be manually updated to support the new versions. I've added both DLSS 3.6 & 3.7 and updated the Ghost of Tsushima to 3.7 now that it is supported. Thanks for pointing it out.

I wouldn't say it's controversial, not the idea itself I mean as from what I remember when reading through it not long ago, everyone was in support of the idea, the issue was that no one could agree on would a good implementation of it would be and look like that works with the current system and setup the Wiki currently has, that's all. I didn't contribute to the conversion myself as I have little knowledge or interest in it personally, but I recall one point of content was the definition, what exactly to call it on the wiki, and the confusion from the many different terms that exist. The only reason nothing has happened yet is that it just hasn't gained enough traction, as it's always only ever been the very few people advocating and discussing it, where there is only so much to say before you start going around in circles, while the rest of don;t have a stake in the matter but would be willing to support it if a definitive answer/position can be reached. Basically this is one of those uncommon opptunities where getting more people involved in the discussion is actually a good thing and likely the only way for something to ever get done about it, as it adds a fresh perspective and driving force behind the idea.

This is something has been firesly discussed on our Discord server and despite having support, unfortunately it has not lead to any actionable conclusion due to the complications surround it's addition. I would suggest if you haven't already to join the Discord server, have a look at the old discussion and bring it back up again as the only way it is ever going to get any resolution.

Dualsense PC owners, I have a doubt
dave247 replied to hiagoloy's topic in Articles and troubleshooting
Having had issues with this myself in the past, one thing I found from looking through discussion forum for applicable Steam games is that apparently is that you want to make sure the sound device for the controller is not disabled, as apparently that has had something to do with how it works. It's unfortunately always been a point of confusion with getting Sony controllers to work as far as I have known, worse with DualShock/PS4 controllers due to the lack of support, though even now with Duelsense sometimes having proper/native support for a game it can still be very confusing to get working. Also as others have said it needs to be done via USB, as that's at least one thing that is confirmed to be known, where for whatever reason the way the drivers work they aren't supported over Bluetooth. That all being said I don't think I've still been able to have any luck personally with having the speaker work. Death Stranding would be the most recent game I played that made spe fic use of the Duelsense controller, but only the adaptive triggers as I never seemed to get the speaker working, though I was never able to find any definitive proof if it was even supposed to work in the first place. -

MacBook (Pro M1 2021) [Game Update]
dave247 replied to patrikch's topic in News and general PC gaming
The best place is actually on the AppleGaming wiki itself as this is exactly what it is designed for. It's considered a sister wiki to the main PCGaming one, and is understandably smaller due to the nature of gaming on Apple also being quite small. The forum, while named after one is meant to cover both wikis. For a lot of games, there likely won't be an article that exists so you would need to create one (such as Age of Empires IV and Assassin's Creed Valhalla). For some though there might already be an article that exists so you can instead simply add to and update the existing page (such as Star Wars: The Old Republic) Take a look at the editing guide, quicksheet, and sample article to get an idea of how pages should be laid out and how to fill in the different fields, and if you need any help then you can ask on the AppleGamingWiki Discord server.- 3 replies

proposal Proposal: Include information on save system
dave247 replied to stuttgart's topic in Development
A simple solution is just have it under its own subheading without a table or any parameters, but then you wouldn't be able to search for or track it. Giving it it's own table and/or parameters would be a bit tricky trying to decide what to and what not to include and would require a lot more working creating a template for it. -

Batman: Arkham City GOTY - Steam DirectX11 Lighting Bug fix for page submission
-
Hey there @darius1911. No don't worry you didn't do anything wrong, there was a bug with Captcha on discussion pages which I had discovered previously but didn't get fully patched out. If anything due to you making a post about it here was better as it meant I happened to come across it a lot sooner! Anyway as for the lighting fix for Batman Arkham City, I've gone ahead and added it as a fixbox to the article page and uploaded the graphic cache files to the downloads section so that they will remain easy to access for anyone in the future.

1,578 downloads
For those who have a lighting issue when using Direct X 11 when playing the GOTY version of the game, the solution is to replace two bin files from the Games for Windows Live version. If you own the original version yourself, you can simply copy and replace the files yourself. A download of the two files are provided here for your convivence. Included in the archive is the following two files, GlobalShaderCache-PC-D3D-SM3.bin GlobalShaderCache-PC-D3D-SM5.bin After downloading, simply extract the two files to <GAME_FOLDER>/BmGame/CookedPCConsole/ and replace any existing files.
