Thank you, Ballard Community!

Spring Trivia Night a Sell-Out of Support for BHS Athletics!

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Spring Trivia Night fundraiser Wednesday night at the Ballard Elks. We'd like to thank the enthusiastic sell-out crowd who joined us, raising nearly $4,000 in support of Ballard Athletics.

Special thank you to our Trivia Hosts, Kelly Jones and Cindy Peterson, and event coordinators Senta Howren and Deborah Frieze. Thanks also to our student volunteers who ran the popcorn machine, helped at the scoring table, and teamed with ABC volunteers to sell raffle tickets. Thanks to our Ballard Elks hosts, and the kind Elks Board Members who helped with trivia food table service, after word got out about the club's delicious offerings.

The Coaches' Table once again brought the fun! Special thanks to Athletic Director Eric Ensign (front right), who was joined by (clockwise) Zach Wurtz (Volleyball), Nick Thornton-Jack (Baseball), Ian Essig (Football), Michael Morgan (Football), Taryn Brandell (Girls Soccer), and Rees Williams (Girls Soccer).

Thanks to all who donated raffle prizes: Ridgewood Bottle & TapStoup Brewing, Dick's Drive-in, Dave and Kelly Jones, and the Ballard High School Foundation.

We're also grateful for ABC Beaver Gear Reps Phoebe Price and Erica Jamir for selling Beaver swag all night and ABC Treasurers Alexis Cruikshank and Tiffany Volosin for their accounting assistance.

Thanks also to ABC President Suzanne Dale Estey for her support and sharing information about our mission with the crowd. The event is one of our largest fundraisers of the year, but your kind, tax-deductible financial gifts are always welcome on our donation page.

Spring Trivia Night Winners

Congratulations to "Damned If I Do, Damned If I Don't" (above) for being honored by the judges as the "Best Team Name."

Congrats to "Foam Rollers" for taking home 1st place, with four repeat champs and two rookie trivia masters!

Thanks again to everyone who joined the fun and raised money for Ballard Athletics. The Elks rewarded everyone with a gorgeous sunset too! We look forward to more trivia fun next year!

Special Announcement for Seniors

Kellen Jones Memorial Grant

Senior Athletes Encouraged to Apply!

2025 Graduating Seniors and Senior Families, the KELLEN “BOBO” JONES '08 MEMORIAL GRANT application window is now open!

Athletics helped Kellen increase his confidence, develop leadership skills, understand the value of the team (family), learn from the experience of others, and build a strong sense of honor. The focus he learned on the football field and the track helped him in his educational and personal development. Kellen valued all of the sports BHS offered and, in addition to participating, was a frequent spectator who appreciated the efforts and achievements of his peers.

Each year, two $500 grants are awarded to two senior student athletes. Recipients exhibit the characteristics and attributes that made Kellen a successful athlete, teammate and Ballard Beaver.

This grant may be used for any post high school vocational training, college, or license program. More info and application! Application deadline is May 30, 2025. Questions? Email KellenJonesMemorialGrant@gmail.com or bhsabcvp@gmail.com.
