The spiraling wellness culture has zeroed in on a profound disconnection: pharmaceutical stimulants and a bloated fitness industry have excreted outwardly energetic individuals, yet they harbor a stubbornly pessimistic collective outlook. a circulatory failure to pierce performative physical prowess into its core. The propaganda of tech-driven growth inevitably resulted in an unavailing wait for external salvation, staring into the rearview mirror of time as coping mechanisms. The sanitization of contemporary maladies with meaningful past experiences becomes the strategic propelling force of the nostalgia economy–discarding genuine historical engagement in favor of transitory sensations.

The artist identifies one possible response in the 1990s, when technology demanded active engagement rather than passive, one-way consumption. Televised aerobics, early PlayStation games, 12-bit audio, and wavestation-style synthesis map an era energized—albeit falsely—by gleeful spirits and utopian anticipation for the future. But to the artist, there were blips of joy that would’ve stimulated a different muscular reaction.

The title ‘Arteria’ borrows from biology, vessels of transportation in between the heart and body. As bodies and entities that have to withstand digital abuse and emotional profiling, the balance of input and output signals are crucial in managing the feedback loop. Creative impulse, here, moves in a similar direction, carrying continuity with an indefinite outcome across networks. Using humor and satire in treating ready-made samples and presets, 'Arteria' suggests a non-linear inspection of the past and apprehension of the future by stepping back from traditional binary definitions of progress versus decline, and instead by moving in and out of circulatory systems, treating memory not as read-only but read-and-write.
