  • just because i don’t see their comments doesn’t mean they are shouting into the void. most of the time when you have discussion with alongside someone who is really crazy, it is not for them. you are not going to convince some antivaxer/election liar/other type of mental, it is not to convince them, it is just not to let their bullshit go unopposed, because there are few people out there who see the topic being discussed for the first time, and if no one contradicts that bullshit, it might seem that the bullshit is generally acceptable take.

it is tiresome, but if no one opens their mouth, they won.

and that is why i prefer “ignore” over “i have last word” button. if you want to opt out, that is fine, but you shouldn’t have the option to censor other people.

  • well 23k usd is ~17k gbp.

and cheapest corolla i can find (new, but 2025 model) is ~20350 gbp (~27300 usd), 2026 models start about 4300 gbp/5700 usd higher.

not sure what your taxes+fees are, but it suddenly doesn’t look as such big difference. not sure if what you listed is cheapest that is available on a market there, i am sure you americans generally like bigger cars, but what i chose are really the cheapest (and therefor smallest) available cars on the local market.

  • outer. outer. outer. OUTER space.

first: we are not dropping the earth from anywhere, dropping it would mean it previously belonged there.

second: while space is everywhere. OUTER space is, by definition, what is OUT there, behind our borders. and what is inside these borders can’t be behind them. so earth is not the outer space, because definition of outer space is “anything but earth”. and to confuse you even more, it is relative based on the speaker. for klingon, earth will be outer space. for earthling, not so much…

If you drop a bunch of pebbles into a bucket of water, the water is in between the rocks, but the rocks are still in water.

yes, but the pebbles are not outside of the bucket, in spite of the fact there is some “outside of the bucket” in all directions from them, they, themselves, are inside. the earth is not in outer space for the same reason these pebbles are not outside of the bucket. how cool is that?

please don’t give any more lectures on logic.
