Whatever you’ve been up to I hope it’s been pleasant. I got a bit busy doing some things that I’ve been putting off all year.

Queensland’s Parliament is currently considering a bill which would effectively ban ebikes. They would be unable to go more than 10 km/h on footpaths and shared paths, which make up over 90% of the so-called “bike paths” in Brisbane. It will also force you to have a driver’s licence to ride an ebike, ban under-16s from riding them at all, and increase the penalty for riding without a helmet for both ebikes and analogue bikes.
That’s what’s being reported quite widely, anyway. But it turns out the truth may be even worse. Zooming in on a section of northern Brisbane in the map showing only the three types of separated bikeway, we see this:
Why grow a nature strip? Helps wildlife survive, brings coolness, beauty and amenity to your street and can open up conversations with locals, creating better neighbourhoods.
This is from the top floor of a three storey house. He is roughly halfway through. Maybe ? That’s Straddie across the way and a small island in between. Not a great day for a view photo today.
Also, I used to wonder why the water kept getting dirty. Then I saw that the Curlews not only drink it but bathe in it too. I’ve changed the water now by the way. I have a friend that has two small dogs, one of them likes to lick cane toads. Eeeek.
Their Mum had
mastitis so it was quite an emergency. We took the pups along in case they needed to stay with the Mum. An American Staffie had climbed up to the second floor of the house and impregnated the English Terrier. Mum was a $3000 dog. The father had done this to a few other dogs in the area.
Anyway Mum lived after an expensive stay. I was offered a pup but I wasn’t in a position to keep one at the time.
