Morgana LeFay. Guinevere. Two iconic women of the Arthurian legends - both underrepresented in the poetic sources for Arthurian literature, but with rich lives worthy of exposition. Fiadh Productions and Pendragon are pleased to present two works, one focusing on each of these significant figures, on cassette this February. Through dungeon synth colored with strains of fantasy music, Balkan folk, and progressive rock, these two releases, both featuring original cover artwork by Silvana Massa, cast a light on these characters, speculating on their inner lives in addition to the more grand events in which they are often implicated.

Morgana - one out of whom history and legend have made a villain, an ordinary opponent with faeries as kin. But could anyone have lived so close to so much power and not wanted their share? Her blood, daughter of Lady Igraine and half-brother to the greatest king, gave her the position. But it was her own fire that led her to seize the knowledge and the power which led to her to her rise and victories, and her own pride which led to her defeat.

In all her knowledge of sorcery, shouldn’t Morgana have seen her own fate? Was she wiped from this realm by vengeance? Or did she reconcile with her kin and carry him off to Avalon? Does she still live on? If you should encounter a fay, perhaps you could inquire…
