…Each historical nation has a glorious past that’s sunk forever, and for many west African historians of the oral tradition this past is represented as the mythical locality of Saraba.
Even though the existence of Saraba is yet to be proven, this so called paradise is repeatedly evoked and celebrated in many popular songs as well as in modern African music.
Saraba is often a metaphor of disenchantment and disillusion when it is being associated with a vanishing happiness. This concept is based on the firm will and determination to protect the natural resources from the dirty hands of predators from the outside.
Saraba, a place lost forever in the undergrowth of time and space, is better known by name than it’s existence…
