Great demo, wishlisted, but PLEASE fix the completely insanely narrow FOV

Thanks! We haven't heard about the FOV being insanely narrow before, we've checked in the office and it feels like it is as it should be. Are you playing in browser or as a download?

(1 edit)

Pretty sure it was downloaded.

Win 10 64-bit
i5-3470
16GB RAM
RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB

Dang, I spent way too much time on this game

We're happy to steal your time!

Just finished the demo. Wishlisted immediately! Absolutely love 3D incrementals, and this gave great "liminal space" vibes.

an office cubicle is the very opposite of a liminal space. you occupy it for 8 hours at a time, 5 days a week. a liminal space is one you move through transiently; one which only exists to connect other spaces; one which has no reason for you to stick around inside of. if you want to describe spooky architecture just say “spooky architecture”

We noticed that the web version has an annoying drift to the right that isn't present in the Steam version, so we'll play that, and give feedback on it separately.

Happy to hear it's not present in the Steam version and looking forward to the feedback.

Demo was super fun! Can’t wait to see what’s next, at one point however the screen just went black and stopped working.

That's a glitch we haven't heard about before, sorry about that. When did it happen and how did you resolve it?

It happened sometime after getting the datamate, i didn’t realize the game saves so I just opened it again and it is fine so far.

this game has the sauce, wishlisted

Wishlist accepted. We intend to add more sauce when launching. Stay tuned. Bzzz...

(1 edit) (+1)

is that supposed to happen or no? maybe this is beta protocol activated. game is great though

(+1)

This is not supposed to happen. Make sure to shut down the simulation immediately and go to the basement for...uhm...research purposes.

(Thanks for reporting, we'll see if we can fix that - not intended...in the demo at least...)

web version doesnt seem to do work for me. i load it up, i see the monitor screen with a logo, and then it does nothing no matter what i press.

Sorry to hear that. Did you try another browser and did you enable hardware acceleration? Alternatively you can download the Windows version here on Itch or even better go to Steam and play :)

really nice vibes and setting

(1 edit)

Thanks, means a lot :)

If you add something that stares at you if you look over one of the walls would be hilarious

Hold our beer!

this game is rlly cool

:3

Thanks! <3

This was meant to be a quick 20 minutes before I go to bed. Unfortunately this game was too addicting to stop and now its 2 in the morning. Awesome game, really love its in an office instead of just on the screen. Can't wait until the full release

(+3)

Sorry to ruin your sleep. I'll report this to Margot from HR.

(thanks for the praise, it means a lot!)

(+1)

loved it alot

Thanks, we're already super psyched to make the full game!

(+2)

Loved the game, one small thing, you need to make the red orb have an actual shape, my color blindness means that the red and green are almost the exact same color, and since they're both circles I literally can't tell them apart.

Also in the full version would love to see more complex types of orb, and maybe even have you make a build (combine specific ones for greater chain reactions) would give more strategy

Good point about the colour blindness, we'll put that on the backlog.

In the full version you'll have WAY more incremental gameplay to upgrade and evolve...and more mystery to unravel as well.

The game was great! Reminds me a bit of Berry Bury Berry (another amazing game).

Donno if its just the controls being weird on browser or itch, but the 3D camera would constantly get stuck as if I reached the end of the screen. A little wiggling fixed it but annoying. The game also seems to have similar issues to older Minecraft versions where the mouse inputs get weird with higher poll rates, especially noticeable when you get a slight lag frame and your camera whips around super far.

Excited to see a full release.

Came from galaxy.click, but the game was unlisted so I couldn't leave a comment on there. Wish you the best of luck!

Thanks for the praise and the Berry Bury Berry reference isn't wrong :)

We've just updated the game with a fix to some similar cursor issues we saw, if you'd like to try again and tell us if the issues have been fixed for you, that'd be great!

They problems seem to be fixed for me! Or atleast I couldnt recreate them while playing for 30 minutes. Thanks a lot!

Thanks so much for taking your time to report back! 10/10 favourite player :)

Getting real fucking tired of the whole tab closing from pressing some combination of ctrl wasd. Same with the mouse not being clicked into game when coming out of a test and blocking moving around.
Mystery games are generally good, this is not, it's a downgrade compared to the base experience of what came before.
And analytics absolutely should not be on by default.

We've just pushed an update that fixes the issues you've encountered. It's not always easy to have a build working as intended on both Steam and Itch - working in a browser comes with some constraints. That said, try again and let us know if the experience was better now :)

Does time stop at February 21st, or am I just a bad employee? .v.

HR will get back to you on that one.

rip reacticore

loved it alot

Thanks! <3

Please add sensitivity for mouse and FOV settings. The default had me motion sick.  Also menus need more on screen buttons for navigation. It's not obvious pressing Q is the exit screen button.

So far a great game, love the aesthetic.  I kinda wish there was a horror aspect.  Would love to catch someone or something walking between the cubicles. maybe just the audio of them walking.

Increasing the fire rate was actually a bad thing since It fired too fast and i wasted shots often.

I'm upset I couldn't eat the rotten cheese.

Same boat with the mouse and fov, and it felt like some motion blur as well

You really shouldn't eat rotten cheese James.

Horror? Maybe...who knows what comes next.

We've made a note about FOV/mouse sens to the backlog, thanks for pointing it out.

has anyone figured out how to get the key to unlock the drawer?

Let us know when you figure it out, we're struggling as well.

Sadly I'm stuck right at the beginning where it tells me to check that graphics acceleration is on. Tried it in both firefox and chrome, I had it on in both of them.

I'm on Linux, so I'm guessing that's an issue, even through the browser sandbox :(

(3 edits)

yep i see 1 2 3 4 things and no idea where the rest is

well i do sort of know where the invisible calnder is

and how do you get to the settings menu on firefox

oh and the coffee cup i can see the steam

...the bot will be hard to find

We're seeing some issues (very rarely though) were some combinations of browsers and GPUs can't run webGPU (which is the tech we're using to render the visuals) - you might but one of those cases. Did you try either downloading the game here from itch or get the demo on Steam?

(+1)(-1)

Sorry we're not actively supporting Linux. Is there any way that you can use Steam and try the demo there?

(1 edit)

hmmm...

yeah i'm getting this error literally everywhere

That should be fixed in the latest build (v0.0.220d)! Let us know if it is still an issue

(+1)

Very cool! I am excited for the full release

So are we, thanks! :)

(+1)

this is legit the best game on itch.io i have ever found i loved every second and i dont even leave reviews like this or fill out the feedback form in games but man this is so. damn. good. but devoloper if you see this i forgot to put the idea in the feedback box but can you make this game downloadable on mac os?

Thank you so much, that means the world to us! And thanks for taking the time to fill out the survey as well. Sadly we can't do Mac builds right now, but we'll see if its possible down the line.

mouse keeps moving of the screen when moving the camera

We've just released an update that should fix the problems in the browser - can you try again and see if it's fixed for you now?

If it keeps causing issues in the browser we recommend downloading the build here on itch (or playing the demo version on Steam).

(+1)

Am I blind or is there not a way out of settings menu to the main menu?

Same thing with the controls menu.

click q

You can press Esc to exit but yes there's no button.

Why does the game exit out when you crouch near the desk?

I'm guessing you're also walking forward which would be ctrl+W, the shortcut to close a website tab.

I forgot that was a shortcut my bad lol.

Use Q to crouch if you play directly on Itch, if you use CTRL in a browser you exit the browser tab as SpinelessCoward says :) If you check the controls section in the settings menu it should say Q as well.

umm, when do i get a pee break? lol

(+1)

They're not mandatory, so don't get your hopes up!

@Funday Games does this game saves automaticlally

Yes it should

Ok thank you and also sorry but I have another question and it is: how long do you think it would take to beat the game and also when do I know when I need the toilet so that i can go and open the emergency door

@Funday Games

(+1)

how do i get out of the upgrade/message area?

Use Q to go back (esc just exits the fullscreen on Itch)

press 'q'!

bro went:

Imma make a game with the two most fun genres.

and pulled it off great

Wow this game is satisfying. Fantastic.

So, I've tried playing this game on MacBooks and Windows laptops at Best Buy and it's fine. I like the game... until I get home and try it again on one of my Chromebooks. For some reason, I can't collect the energy in the same way as I can on those other laptops, which prevents me from progressing in the game. Why did you make such a straightforward game unplayable on modest hardware? You're literally clicking and collecting energy, the latter of which seems like an extraneous step. I don't see how I can't collect energy, but perhaps you just hate Chromebooks or low-end hardware that can run far more sophisticated Android games like Horizon Chase flawlessly in a VM but for some reason can't control a circle mouse cursor in your browser game well enough to "collect" energy from cells. Go figure.

(+1)

my brother in Christ my Chromebook cant even run Spotify and i had no problems finishing the game. has nothing to do with the hardware. also people would be a lot more likely to listen to your advice if it didn't sound like an attack

I Have No Idea How Long I Have Been Playing This, Great Game! It Can Get So Chaoic (Not A Bad Thing, I Love Chaos). Its Weirdly Addicting (In A Good Way). As Of Writing This, I Got 42213 Money And @133

(1 edit)

Slow to get going, but once the chain reactions start popping off its extremely satisfying. I had no performance issues the whole way through on my very weak device, so it seems well optimized! I would want to see the potential for even longer reaction chains, maybe make the purple core more accurate (I swear whenever I see a chain reaction end its always a purple projectile baaarely missing a chainable core), and of course continue with the story, but honestly if this was a demo I would buy the full version!

Rly like this chillout "ZEN" game!

I have NO performance issues, the game only utilizes minimal CPU-Load and uses very little RAM. Everything runs smooth!
(running on an old i5 4570)

I bought a new Chromebook last Wednesday with an octa-core Mediatek Kompanio 520 and 8GB of RAM but this game still plays very poorly. I had to look up how to collect energy, since triggering its release didn't seem to get me any, and Google overview told me I had to "sweep" the screen, which is nearly painful to do since it seems your game was not optimized to run well on hardware that runs Android apps in a VM perfectly.

This game seems unplayable, and there's no greater reason for it than you failed to optimize it the way a game like PolyTrack is optimized, and I suggest a low-poly racing game is far more complex and demanding than a 2D clicking game.

Did you really take 5 weeks to make such a simple-looking game and not ensure it ran well on modest hardware?

This just feels like a stupid game. Congratulations on frustrating the kind of "gamers" that might be interested. But perhaps the real deficiency is that I'm not running at least an i3 or Ryzen 3 processor to meet the demands of a game that has better music than visuals.

(+1)

playing on an n4500 with 4gb ram. there's a little stuttering, but nothing I would consider unplayable?

I've also played this game on a Chromebook with n4020 and 4GB, so a Celeron a step below yours. It does play poorly on both Chromebooks.

Also, if I can't control the mouse, I can't click on the energy, which frankly is a stupid mechanic. It might not be so stupid, though, if I could actually control the mouse or the circle in the first place and controls were responsive.

This is a good-looking game and I might enjoy it if the controls weren't crippled. As it stands, it's just proof that some browser games require computers with more processing power than a low-end Chromebook, even if they're literally clicking and upgrade games.

I'm guessing the five weeks it took to make this thing was primarily spent on making it look and sound good on hardware well beyond what might typically be required of a simple browser game.

It's just weird to me that I can play simplified first-person shooters on a Chromebook but a 2D clicking game runs like my mouse movement is maxing out the processor all the time.

Sorry to hear you are struggling with performance issues. It's a prototype done by one guy in 5 weeks and there's definitely a whole lot of issues all over the place :) We think that it might be something happening with computers with only integrated (onboard) graphic cards (like Chromebooks). If we decided to pursue the game further it's something we'll look at among the first things.
Have a great day :)

The increased expanded area after nucleus splitting upgrade hurts chain reactions. I maxed the upgrade out after beating the game and saw my earnings drop from ~$4500 to ~$1400. The upgrade should rather start max and decrease area so chain reactions happen more often and continuously.
