Arduino IDE crashes when moving a window to another screen or when I close my MacBook with another screen on.
IDE 1.8.12 MacOS X Catalina 10.15.4

Closing as duplicate of #9764

The workaround is to use Arduino IDE 1.8.10, which you can download from this page:
https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/OldSoftwareReleases#1.5.x

Another work around is selecting the option 'Displays have separate Spaces' in System Preferences -> Mission Control.
