Hello GitHub Community,

I’ve been using GitHub Pages to host my personal projects for a long time without any issues. Recently, I uploaded a frontend clone of Amazon (just HTML/CSS/JS, no backend or data collection), and since then, my GitHub Pages site has started showing a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning saying it's a dangerous or phishing site.

Even older projects that were previously safe are now being flagged as unsafe. I haven’t added any malicious content, and I’m not collecting any user data.

Can someone help me understand:

• Why this is happening?
• Is there something in my code triggering this?
• How can I fix it and prevent future warnings?

This topic has come up a few times already, the warning is due to a Google security policy regarding potential phishing sites, be sure to check out the discussions below for additional context:

1. My deployment pages in github are marked as dangerous sites.. but they are just simple projects like calculator and my portfolio #133058

Solution:

Go to google search console and paste the url and get verified (They provide you four different methods to do so). After that request them a review, writing that the error is being resolved.(Provided you delete that repository where you made the clone ).After 48 hours you will receive a mail from google highlighting that your error has been resolved.

yeah, google tags potential phishing sites that might be used in scams, I think you gotta verify from search console but your website would still not be treated that well :/
