Copilot Agent mode freezes Visual Studio Code when running a Maven command

Starting today, whenever the Copilot Agent starts a Maven command, the command is executed on the terminal, but as soon as it finishes on the terminal, Visual Studio Code gets completely frozen and I can only restart it.

I saw something similar and a solution https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/162702#discussioncomment-13460778 but it did not work for me.

This happens on macOS, it used to work yesterday, so it must have been the latest update.

Note that running other command like "ls" works: the agent also intercepts the termination of the command and uses the output.

   • Restart VS Code each time to see if the freezing persists.

2. Roll Back to Previous Extension Version:

   • You can downgrade GitHub Copilot and/or VS Code to the versions where things last worked. This can help confirm if a recent update introduced the problem.

3. Clear Extension Cache and Reinstall:

   • Uninstall the Copilot extension, remove its settings and cached state, and reinstall it from the marketplace.
   • Go to your VS Code extensions folder and delete the Copilot-related folders to ensure a clean reinstallation.

4. VS Code Version Check:

   • Ensure you're running the latest stable version of VS Code, as some extension updates require the latest editor version.

Additional information: I had already cleared all the caches and extensions and reinstalled from scratch. That doesn't solve the problem. And I'm running the latest stable version of visual studio code.

Don't think on this one too hard, friend. The now seemingly force-shoveled GitHub Co-Pilot (replaced deprecated Microsoft Intellisense officially) makes everything else it touches run like absolute dogshit. And as much as I use and like VS Code, it needed no help in the dogshit performance department. We've passed modern Firefox on the DSP charts (dogshit performance, quantitatively qualified).
