Hi Github team,

I've noticed that since November 13, the GitHub Trending lists have been showing the same set of projects, even though the star counts are updating normally. It seems like the ranking or project selection isn't refreshing.

Could you please check whether the Trending update logic is functioning as expected?

Yes, actually the trending has not changed since Nov 12. As shown below, Trendshift has recorded the historical trending data for all currently trending items. All these items have remained unchanged for more than two weeks as of today.

It's been over ten days now, and it seems no one is paying attention to this issue?

Librepods went from 7k stars to 15k stars in the manner of a week and has yet to show up

I’m also considering adding a daily recommendation feature based on activity metrics and a user submissions page. In case GitHub Trending continues to take a long time to update.

Doesn't seem like it. I also gained more than 100 stars, and still not trending.

Meanwhile, a repo that gained 1 star did. I don't know what's happening.

I used to check trending repo almost everyday and now since last month it always show the same list.

As we wait for GitHub Trending to resume updates, trendshift.io now calculates a score for every saved repository and recommends trending repositories daily. It serves as an alternative to GitHub Trending so there’s still a place to explore trending repositories when GitHub Trending isn’t updating.

Hello. On behalf of the GitHub team, we are aware of the trending developer and repo lists failing to be updated since November 13. This is on our radar and we are currently working on a fix.
