Hi @sdalli , This community is managed by GitHub employees, but it is not a support forum. The only place to go for answers to account-specific questions like this one is opening a ticket on our Support page. This is a public forum, and the community is unable to assist with nor escalate your ticket, but we can assure you it is in the right place. It will be answered in the order it was received based on our team's resources and the amount of tickets ahead of yours. As no other Community Discussions team members will be able to provide additional help with account related questions I am going to close this discussion. We appreciate your understanding and patience while Support works through your request! |

Hi everyone,
I need some help regarding a subscription issue on my GitHub account.
Last year (2025), I had an active GitHub Copilot Pro annual subscription, which was working as expected. However, this year (2026), I noticed that my subscription has been changed to a different plan (GitHub Developer Plan – prorated) instead of renewing the original Copilot plan.
It seems that I may have accidentally subscribed to the wrong plan, and now:
My original Copilot subscription is no longer active
A different plan has been billed instead
My questions:
Is it possible to get a refund for the incorrect subscription?
How can I switch back to the original GitHub Copilot plan?
Was this change due to any recent billing or plan updates, or purely manual selection?
If anyone has faced a similar issue or knows the correct process, please guide me on the best way to resolve this.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Regards,
Shanker Reddy
