How can I restore my Copilot Pro+ subscription that was canceled due to a payment error? #198713

Billing issues like this can't be fixed from the community side, only GitHub's billing team has access to account subscriptions. Since you already opened a support ticket, the best move is to follow up on it directly at https://support.github.com/tickets. If it's been more than a few business days with no response, reply to the ticket to bump it up in the queue. One thing worth mentioning when you follow up: make sure you explain that the cancellation was triggered by a bank-side maintenance failure, not a voluntary cancellation. That context matters for how the billing team handles restoring a subscription vs. treating it as a new signup. On the "not accepting new paid subscriptions" part: GitHub recently shifted Copilot to usage-based billing, so the old fixed-price Pro+ plan structure changed. The support team should be able to clarify what your options are given your subscription history. |

Losing a subscription you've had for years due to a bank issue is painful, especially when new signups are paused. Here's what you need to do right now:
Go to: support.github.com/tickets Reply to your ticket and add this information:
GitHub can restore canceled subscriptions only if: · The cancellation was less than 30 days ago
Scenario Outcome
Even if they restore your subscription, it will likely be under the new usage-based model, not the old fixed-price Pro+ plan. But at least you'll have access again. Bottom line: Reply to your support ticket today. Explain it was NOT voluntary. Ask for restoration specifically. Don't create a new ticket — just reply to the existing one. Good luck. Let us know if they restore it. |

Although I advise you not to buy it, you might not listen, so you should still use it for a month. |

Copilot in GitHub
Body
A few days ago, when I logged into GitHub, I saw a notification saying my payment had failed and suggested I update my payment method (later I found out it was because the bank I was using was undergoing maintenance, preventing the charge). I assumed it was a PayPal issue, so I re-bound my account, but still received the same prompt to update my payment method. So I updated it again... and then, my Copilot Pro+ subscription was automatically canceled.
The worst part is, I just realized that Copilot is no longer accepting new paid subscriptions now...
I've been using Copilot continuously for several years, and it's by far the most useful and intuitive AI tool I've found. Is there any way to restore my subscription now? I submitted a support ticket, but it seems no one has responded.
