The situation you describe appears to be a genuine access problem with the GitHub's current documentation confirms that suspended accounts should use the There is also a previous GitHub Community discussion from May 2026 describing Since you have already tested logged-out/private browsing, another browser, I would keep this discussion focused on one question:
Community moderators cannot reinstate a suspended account, so what is needed If possible, include the suspended account's username, the approximate date of GitHub's documentation states that legitimate appeals are reviewed by GitHub |

Hi @Nbail-Oc, good that you've raised a ticket. That's the right route. I can't tell you how long it will take, and Community can't speed up the review or reinstate the account, but you can make sure the ticket has everything they need. Keep everything on that one ticket instead of opening new ones. If you need to add anything, reply to the existing ticket and make sure it includes:
Then explain the situation clearly and factually: which repository the project was in, that it was a student hackathon security project developed in an isolated VM, and that an AI coding tool was used for some repository operations and may have uploaded a file or commit unintentionally. If you know which file or commit it might be, mention it and say you're willing to remove or fix anything GitHub identifies as violating its policies. Ask for two things specifically: a review of the account suspension and a working way to submit the appeal. While you wait, keep a local backup of the project. Don't push the project, or any potentially problematic file, to GitHub from this account or another account, and don't create a new account to work around the suspension. Also, don't post passwords, 2FA or recovery codes, access tokens, or other private account information in this discussion. |

Hello GitHub Community,
My main account (Nabilthange) was suspended due to a Terms of Service violation. I am trying to submit an official appeal, but the Appeal and Reinstatement form repeatedly returns an HTTP 403 Forbidden error.
I have already attempted troubleshooting by:
Accessing the form in Incognito / Private browsing mode
Trying multiple web browsers
Attempting access while completely signed out
I am posting from this older account strictly because I cannot log in or submit a ticket from my main account.
Context
The suspension occurred during a cybersecurity project built for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH - PS 151), focusing on dark web threat actor deanonymization. The repository contained scraped HTML snapshots from an isolated VM for OSINT analysis. An automated script or tool likely pushed an instance containing prohibited content without intent.
I have cleaned up local history, but I cannot push changes while suspended. A brief demo of the legitimate, government-hackathon research project is available here for reference: Jane: Finding the People Behind Dark Web Identities (YouTube).
Request
I am fully willing to remove or remediate any content flagged by GitHub. Since the standard reinstatement form is blocked by an HTTP 403 error, what is the alternative or working support route to contact GitHub Support?
(Note: I understand community members cannot reinstate accounts directly; I am only seeking guidance on how to deliver my appeal ticket to support.)
Thank you!
