PR check links ignore check_run_id until page reload

Clicking a check name in the checks section at the bottom of a pull request's Conversation page navigates to the correct checks?check_run_id=... URL, but the Checks tab does not display the selected check. Reloading the same URL displays the correct results.

Public reproduction

PR: microsoft/vscode#341391

1. Open the PR's Conversation page and wait for the checks section at the bottom to load.
2. Click Dependencies Check in that section.
3. The address bar changes to https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/pull/341391/checks?check_run_id=115529983967 .
4. The check summary displays “Select a check to view from the sidebar”, rather than the Dependencies Check results.
5. Reload that exact URL. The summary now correctly displays VS Code Engineering / Dependencies Check, with the heading “No dependency changes.”

Expected behavior

Clicking the check name should display that check's results immediately, honoring the check_run_id query parameter.

Actual behavior

Navigation from the Conversation page reaches the correct URL but does not select/render the requested check. A full page reload fixes it. The link's href contains the correct check ID before clicking, so this does not appear to be an incorrect link in the check list.

Environment and workaround

• Reproduced October 13, 2026, in Chrome on macOS, signed in to GitHub.
• No Refined GitHub extension installed.
• Workaround: reload the Checks page after clicking the check link.
