Storage Functionality for valQ

The Storage Function involves the following functionalities:

  1. Creating the authentication for the first time logged in user.
  2. +
  3. Synchronize the data which is derived out of the tree creation to the internal server (storage tenant) along with the comments of various users.
  4. +
  5. Export the data in the form of JSON and csv file formats by generating the respective URL so that the data can be fetched.
  6. +
  7. Maintains the History Log for the changes like adding and deleting a Node, Simulation changes, creating a model, creating a scenario and allocation series.

The below steps can be followed to achieve the storage function:

  1. Navigate to the top most panel of the valQ screen. You will be able to view the login logo at the right side (see Figure below).

  1. By clicking the login logo, you will be able to view the Login with Office 365 option as shown below.

3. By clicking the “Login with Office 365” option, it authorizes the valQ and fetches the following user information details. +a. User Name +b. Email ID +c. Profile Picture

  1. Once it is authorized, you will be able to view the user profile picture along with the “Sync” and “Comment” icons (see Figure below).

By clicking the “Sync” icon, you will be able to view the Sync panel with Sync details (see Figure below). In our example, the Model Name has been changed to “Copper Sales”.

  1. By clicking the “Comment” icon, you will be able to view the comments provided by different authorized users for the Scenario 1 (see Figure below).

The Model Name that was updated in the Sync panel and the Comment details from the Comment panel will be stored in the Storage Tenant and it will be fetched at any time.

  1. A Web Data Source can be also created based on our selection of specific scenarios and Allocation Series in valQ. For our example, click the option “Create a web data source” as shown in the below Figure.

  1. By clicking the Web Data Source option, you will be able to select the scenarios and allocation series for creating the web data source (see Figure below).

In the above Figure, you can export the data as JSON or csv file format by clicking the Export as option.

  1. After selecting the scenarios and allocation series, click the Create option and you will be able to view the Export Window with the URL details being created (see Figure below). You can also download the data by clicking the Download csv option and this download option will be available only in the web version of the Power BI.

  1. By activating the “Upload as a new model” option, the user can upload a duplicated page for the first time (see Figure below).

  1. You will be able to view the History Log by navigating to the User Name - > History Log (see Figure below).

  1. Here the history details will be updated for the activities like adding and deleting a Node, Simulation changes, creating a model, creating a scenario and allocation series, For our example, a scenario has been created/updated and a Model has been created (see Figure below).
