We are Smithdown Social Arts Hub on Smithdown Road in Liverpool. We have been operating as a community arts organisation since 2018. Our dream was to support local creatives with projects across multiple arts genres: music, film, art and literature. We have delivered over 37 local artist exhibitions, published 3 compilations of local writers' work, produced a music and poetry album, provided the platform for local scriptwriters to produce 15 short films, generated music content for over 20 local musicians and more!

In 2020 we were faced with the challenges of Covid closure but kept going despite it all! We are now facing some hard choices as after 5 years our lease is up for renewal and our landlord wants to raise the rent by £625 a month!!! WTF! So it might be all change again but it won't stop us from pivoting again and expanding in new directions.

We are now raising money in our community for this pivot as funding is scarce for the arts and super competitive!
