At Las de Allá Dance Collective, we are dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the stories of underrepresented communities through the powerful art of movement and performance. Our mission provides a vital platform for BIPOC and Latin communities to share their narratives, confronting systemic barriers and showcasing resilience, strength, culture, and joy.
Our Need:
We started our project last year with our own funding and a $5,000 grant from the City of Austin, which helped cover production costs and theater rental. However, this year's funding remains uncertain, and we need your support to continue our vital work. Securing funding for our upcoming dance season is the first step in ensuring our collective can thrive.
Our Solution:
By covering the costs of our upcoming dance season, we can utilize the profits to sustain our activities and community outreach throughout the entire year. Our season culminates in the performance of "Patriarcado Nuestro," taking place from April 10-12, 2026. This production will provide a transformative exploration of the often-silenced narratives that shape our identities. We will blend movement, spoken word, and dance to highlight the personal and collective struggles faced by our communities, paying tribute to those lost to domestic violence and individuals detained by ICE.
Additionally, we are committed to giving back to the community we represent; 10% of the proceeds from our dance season will be donated to causes aligned with our community’s needs, ensuring that our impact extends beyond the stage.
How You Can Help:
Donate: Contribute to our fundraiser online throughout January 2026, culminating in our celebratory event on January 25th.
Attend the Event: Join us for a vibrant day filled with dance classes, live performances, a live band, and social dancing. Admission will be on a sliding scale of $20 to $60, allowing you to give according to your means, with free drinks to enhance the festive spirit.
Spread the Word: Share our mission with your networks to help us reach a broader audience and engage more supporters.
