Montessori Education for All – Support Our School in Lombok
Hello, my name is Gabriela.
In 2012, I founded the Lombok Montessori School – Futura Indonesia on the Indonesian island of Lombok.
It is a school where children learn according to the principles of Maria Montessori: self-directed, at their own pace, with head, heart, and hands.
From the beginning, our vision was clear:
Every child deserves access to quality education – regardless of their family's financial situation.
What Montessori Means
Montessori education puts the child at the center.
It fosters confidence, independence, and social awareness.
Children are not instructed, but guided – in carefully prepared environments, with meaningful materials and space to grow.
Learning in Solidarity – Our Community
Our school is built on a simple yet powerful idea: families who can give more help those who cannot pay.
Today, 35 children attend our Montessori preschool and primary school.
Four children who joined us from the very beginning were able to attend free of charge for nine full years. Today, they are thriving in public high school.
A beautiful example of how education can change lives.
Why We Need Help Now
- We’re currently facing several challenges.
- Our school buildings needed urgent renovation.
- Our school bus required major repairs.
- A long-time team member had an accident – and we would like to offer him a fair severance.
- Our teachers need stable and reliable salaries.
- We also built a small extension to finally provide a staff room and an office.
- And of course, we need administrative support to ensure the school can operate: leadership, bookkeeping, and foundation oversight – these behind-the-scenes roles are just as essential.
Even a small school needs more than heart and passion – it needs stable structures.
