Need help with this Happy Light from company
Very little instructions as a first time user. I feel like I am not using settings correctly. I have regular glasses and need them. I put light as close as is comfortable and trying to get some effect after 15 min, but nothing. Then put light closer to me to my side of face for 30 minutes, and stilldidn’t feel any better. What am I doing wrong? Am I expecting results too quickly. I still feel down. I have had Happy Light for 2 weeks and use it in morning when I get up. I am disappointed. Can you tell me if there is a better way to use the light?

Hi Stephanie, Thank you for providing your feedback! The light needs to enter directly into your eyes. Generally, a good position is on a desk or table at 10 o’clock or 2 o’clock. You can even position slightly higher than your eyes to mimic the angle of sunlight. Just like the sun, you don't want to stare directly at your HappyLight Therapy Lamp, but you do need to be able to see it. You also want to find a comfortable distance from the light. The closer the light is to you, the shorter the amount of time you will need to use the light to receive its full benefits. Many people leave their HappyLight Therapy Lamp at a distance of up to 2 feet and on for an hour or more while they work. Just keep in mind that the farther you move it away, the longer you’ll need to use the light to feel its benefits. Think... closer = shorter time; farther = longer time. Glasses are fine to wear as long as they are not tinted. Tinted glasses would cause less light to reach your eyes, and the light from the HappyLight Therapy Lamp needs to reach your eyes to work. We got the HappyLight for winter, and honestly it’s been a game changer. My son, who really struggles with depression in the darker months, actually loves using it, and I’ve noticed a shift in both his mood and energy. Winter months life saver!

Excellent Company to Work With
I ordered 2 lights as Christmas presents. My youngest daughter has one and loves it, so I got them for her older sisters. I am also a mental health therapist and have clients who swear by these lights. I believe that they are beneficial to mental health. The order came, and there was only one light. I emailed the company and they were awesome. I got the second light very quickly. I did have to show my order, as well as what I received, but that is to be expected or people will try to rip them off. The products are excellent and the company was great. Everybody can make a mistake, but a company that makes it right when it happens should be applauded. I’ve had plenty of situations that didn’t go that smoothly.

Verilux Happy Light AKA "The Portable Beach"
One of the best inventions I have ever used. I struggle with sleep as well as anxiety and depression. This has helped me sleep deeper and stay asleep longer, and when I don't sleep well I can function better with this light. An absolute must have with anyone that lives in a colder climate without the sun. Amazing Product!

It works!
It's amazing how well this worked after one session. I usually get sleepy and have a hard time focusing in the afternoons, but after using the light I was alert all day. Something I noticed is that the first few times I used it, I left it on for too long and it affected my sleep, I was still alert at 11am. I shortened the time I use it and only use it early in the morning and it works great!

Learn from me, get the one with the most options
Way too bright, it’s like I’m experiencing snow blindness after using it which keeps giving me headaches. Need a lower setting to try to work up to the brighter ones. Hoping I’m able to return it for the luxe that has more color and brightness levels
