IPL 2025 Orange Cap, Most Runs Scorer in IPL 2025: Get the complete list of highest runs scorer in Indian Premier League 2025 including IPL orange cap holder, most runs scorer here.

The 18th season of the Indian Premier League will start from March 22 (Saturday) with a clash between heavy-hitters Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens. A day later, the two giants of the IPL, five-time champions Mumbai Indians and five-time winners Chennai Super Kings will face off.

The IPL has always been a batter’s league. Right from the very first match in its history, when Kolkata Knight Riders’ Brendon McCullum bludgeoned 158* off 73 deliveries, the Indian Premier League was destined to be a safe haven for run scorers. At the end of each season, the Orange Cap is awarded to the player with the most runs.

Team India star Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League (before the IPL 2025 season begins) with 8,004 runs from 252 innings. He has scored eight hundreds and 55 half-centuries. Shikhar Dhawan is second in the table with 6,669 runs from 221 innings. Rohit Sharma (6,628 runs) overtook David Warner (6,565 runs) in third spot after the 2024 season. But the Australian is the only foreign player in the top 5 with Suresh Raina (5,528) closing out the top 5.

Kohli also holds the record for most runs scored in a single IPL season: 973 in 2016.
