KHIPU.AI Mission

KHIPU.AI – Latin American AI Institute’s mission is to support the advancement of Latin American talent, research, and companies to shape the future of AI through groundbreaking research and a supportive ecosystem.

KHIPU began in 2019 as a biennial gathering, building a vibrant hub designed to accelerate our mission. Since 2019, we’ve held three events, cultivating a thriving community of AI innovators. The primary goals for KHIPU and this event are:

To offer training in advanced machine learning topics, such as deep learning and reinforcement learning.
To strengthen the machine learning community by fostering collaborations between Latin American researchers, and creating opportunities for connections and knowledge exchange with the broader international community.
To grow awareness around how AI may be used for the benefit of Latin America

Building on this success, KHIPU has evolved to become a fully fledged non-profit organisation in 2024. This marks a new and exciting chapter for our team and our mission, expanding out reach and impact through three channels.

KHIPU Event: The biennial gathering will continue, building an essential platform for learning, networking, and inspiration.

KHIPUx: This important initiative supports a series of smaller, locally-organised events across Latin America throughout the year, ensuring that KHIPU’s spirit of collaboration reaches every corner of the region.

Formal Fundraising: We are establishing a dedicated fundraising arm, ensuring our long-term sustainability and growth.
