These two tracks are so good & atmospheric & powerful beyond belief that I went for the entire discography! That & the fact that it was all over *far* too quickly... :) Thanks so much to Atti 🖤 for taking me here! It is yet another project that, in my unlimited ignorance, I knew nothing about! It isn't every day two bands, specialized in bringing misery to the world, decide to join forces... Early 2024 A Thousand Sufferings and Kludde were looking to add a new chapter to their book of vile bleakness and sorrow, as luck would have it, a new project was born. This new abomination would take the form of a split lp.
Reviewing what songs both bands were writing at the time, it was quickly decided by all that a concept album was in order, perhaps a Flemish tale of folklore? Something Kludde is known for and excels in. Or perhaps something a little more cruel and sorrowful? Lending itself for A Thousand Sufferings to churn out a whole lot of misery in the process.
After some brain storming was done, a proposition was made to tell the story of the De Vis family. A tale Kludde was eager to share with the world for some time already. A story of unbelievable cruelty... unbelievable but real.
Based on true events it tells of greed and insanity, it tells of the sorrow of a young woman in love, bound to live out her days locked away in the family castle. All to preserve the riches, acquired over generations, each more depraved and decadent then the next.
To properly bring you this auditory torment, and to truly capture the madness of a family this horrid, the bands began writing the lyrics from different points of view, Kludde taking on the role of story tellers, doing what they do best and bringing this Flemish tale to life, singing in their trademark Oilsjters dialect and infusing powerful atmospheric Black Metal riffs with a Black ’n roll groove.
A Thousand Sufferings on the other hand using their immersive doom laden song compositions to portray the sorrow and greed viewed first hand by writing their lyrics from within the point of view of members of the De Vis family.
Enhanced by the breathtaking visuals and art of Wesley Dewanckel, both bands kick it up a notch by simultaneously releasing a series of video clips and lyric videos to further elevate this monumental endeavor of emerging the listener in the sick and twisted world of the De Vis family.
Two bands joining to make 2024 a little darker and more depraved is rare indeed. Especially in times when music is made by the numbers and true passion and dedication is dwindling. At least you have A Thousand Sufferings and Kludde to bring you some well executed and truly heartfelt torment. Prepare for trouble, make it double!

Bien qu'elle soit quasiment deux fois plus courte que son aînée, bien qu'elle soit gravée dans le même mur aussi imposant que friable, Landschapsanachronismen est la démo de l'émancipation. Au lieu de se lancer dans l'excavation d'archives anciennes, Oerheks s'intéresse à l'anachronisme, à un temps en-dehors du temps. Le raw black metal, plus austère sur le plan mélodique, porte avec lui un froid boréal ; des chœurs venus d'un autre monde accompagnent vers l'autel une voix qui se sacrifie... Nocturnal Egg (Jordan)

Qui comprend la vitesse fera automatiquement l'acquisition de la clef du temps — Oerheks l'Anachronique ne pouvait donc pas passer outre ce domaine d'études. Je ne ferai bien sûr pas de parallèles entre Valkengebed et DragonForce ou The Dark Atom (gardons un peu de mesure), il n'empêche que le rythme de cette troisième démo est beaucoup plus soutenu, épique. La batterie propulse dans les airs, les mélodies virevoltent, gracieuses, et les cris sont motivés par la peur du vide. Une grande évasion. Nocturnal Egg (Jordan)
